jmurrayR6 Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 Ok.... just got a call from my powder coater (the owner) at 7pm tonight he said he just pulled my banshee out of the oven. (one of the workers said) that he could powder the arms and would not mess them up. SOOO my first question was how are the arms "there toast" (in a confendet voice) ok......... well he said that he has had people run with the arm joints lose but im not that kind of guy i like things done right. Then he said he had someone say that there is someone who can pull them out and repair them. Who? he could not remeber. So PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!!!! does anyone know how to fix this mess or know someone that does. I was going to call cascade innovations in portland oregon because they do everything banshee but if they dont do it im still screwed. Who ever helps me i will forever Quote
Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 i did the same mistake and the only thing i did with my a arms that were pc'd were chuck them in the garbage can , be nice to see if u can figure a way to go around it ! Would defintly require cut and welding but i dont know who can do it or if it can be done. But if theres a will theres a way good luck Quote
jmurrayR6 Posted February 7, 2006 Author Report Posted February 7, 2006 read about 1000000000 fourms about this topic and ya im going to bed crying now. i just threw money out the window. damn Quote
2003LimitedBanshee Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 Yep, factory arms don't have serviceable ball joints. Quote
1000dollabill Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 i have powder coated j arms that are still good. the lowers were toast afterwards. Quote
Gargamel Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 ....... that he could powder the arms and would not mess them up. ......469825 I would be raising hell if they said they could get it done and ruined them. They have to be baked with a UV light not heated oven. The plastic in the ball joints melts. I'd make them buy you new ones, after all they killed them not doing it right. But hope you have something in writing, or your most likely screwed. Look on the bright side, now you have a reason to upgrade to some +2 arms Quote
trex banshee Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 you could always buy some replacement ball goints for a different type of A-arm.(the type that you screw in with a lock nut) and cut the stock ball joints off and do some modding. It takes some time but it can be done I have seen pics of it before and that is what i am doing right now. Quote
Dead Op Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 hey i got my stock a arms done you have to take all the grease out before you bake! Quote
ghostryder420 Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 Dude the shop who did the work is totally liable for that shit.. THEY ruined your ball joints, not you. repairing them would be stupid cuz of all the cutting and shit you would need to do for the repair, but a nice new set of a arms would be sweet right? man up and go after the shop who did the work- at the very least you should definately be getting your money back, but that still doesnt solve the problem- they need to be replacing your parts, simple as that. unless you had the work done by some guy in his garage then you might be shit outta luck. but if it was a legit shop then you gots to stand up man. good luck yo Quote
jmurrayR6 Posted February 8, 2006 Author Report Posted February 8, 2006 HOLY SHIT YES!!!!!!!!!!!! The powder coated told me they were messed up but when I got there, there PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!
