lumi Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 hi i have a 2000 yamaha banshee and i just put new wiesco pistons and rings in and i bored the cylinder over .40, also i put a new clutch in. i have the airbox with K&n filter on and lid on with no snorkle.i broke it in with about a tank and the second tank just rode hard sometimes and easy and now my third tank it barely idles and when i go idle to try to give it gas it bogs from low to mid range, and than from mid to high it is perfect. when i put the choke half way in the bike runs mint. the gas from the hose or reservior hose from the carb i think leaks alot aswell. i have a 280 main jet in there and i havent touch anything else. i run 32:1 maxima castro 93 octane. please any help much aprreciate thanks alot in advance. Dinner Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 (edited) if you are able to pull the choke out half and it runs mint, then you are running lean....did you try adjusting your air mixture screw?...you could even have an air leak in the carb boots after the re-build..does it idle higher than it should? lumi Posted February 5, 2006 Author Report Posted February 5, 2006 (edited) no it dile's low really low but what should i do to the fuel screw? is there only one? in or out which makes it leaner/richer? thanks alot. Edited February 5, 2006 by lumi Quote
Dinner Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 (edited) do you have TORS or are they gone?....and what is the temp and elevation around where you live Edited February 5, 2006 by Dinner Quote
akita8 Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 Check the hose between the carbs. Quote
lumi Posted February 5, 2006 Author Report Posted February 5, 2006 (edited) i dunno my elevation im in brooklyn new york and its about 40 degrees right now. doesnt look like any airleaks everything seems nice and tight between the carbs and the boots / hoses. tors is still on it Edited February 5, 2006 by lumi Quote
Banchetta Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 The carb overflow is leaking, then pull the carb and readjust the floats inside...next, make sure the choke tube is in place between the carbs (1/4"x2"), next make sure the cutaways in the slides face the airbox, if not, then swap the carb tops.
