Polish Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 will clear hoses from home depot work for my radiator / or will they melt all to hell? the clear hose kit they sell is way to expensive hook me up with info guys Quote
Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 i tried it but mine melted , and i didnt notice and was runnin for about 2 minutes hard with no coolant and well i almost blew the bike , just my 2 cents Quote
Too Many Toys Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 I don't know about home depot's but any place that sells industrial hoses should have some to work. They just have to be high heat. They are alot cheaper than the kits you see. Quote
MDS2106 Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 They will work ,its just a bitch getting the hose over the water pump side cover fitting.I must of fought with that fucker for 30 mins. Quote
GleasmJA Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 get ahold of new age industries. Ask them for a sample in 5 feet. Enough to make both hoses. And they have a high temp hoses that should easily work. That what i did. Haven't run the hose yet, because i'm in the midle of remodeling. Quote
akita8 Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 What type of hose do you get from New Age. The temps on the clear hoses are only good for 175 degrees. Quote
batoutofshell Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 ACE hardware has clear braided hose for up to 250 degress 1.50 a foot Quote
Polish Posted February 5, 2006 Author Report Posted February 5, 2006 ACE hardware has clear braided hose for up to 250 degress 1.50 a foot 469038 Home Depot has clear braided too!!.........Are they the same? Quote
Wallrat Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 Just make sure you re-tighten down all the hose clamps after the first time it gets hot. Clear hoses tend to get a little squishy when heated. Quote
GleasmJA Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 the hose i got is double reinforced and good up to temps of 350. It is made of sylicone, not the nylon like probable from home depot. Here is a link: http://www.newageindustries.com/slbrd.asp Look at details for yourself. Quote
GleasmJA Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 Also, i don't know if you just want clear hoses or not. But this company makes direct replacment hoses that are preformed. www.cv4.net Don't know prices or anything, just found them while doing hose homework myself. They make them in colors. Try them too. helldriver Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 (edited) or you could just go to alba and a few other places that sell a whole kit that has clear hoses and colored dye Edited February 5, 2006 by helldriver Quote
GleasmJA Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 the only thing i don't like about most hose kit out there... are A. they have ribbing on them and i don't like that or B. it doesn't hold the temps that could come up. That's why i found my own. Quote
Too Many Toys Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 i hate that ribbing too. Thats why i haven't done it yet either. Quote
