rjvoight Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 Wife and I went to the doctor for a check up yesterday on the baby. They had been watching her blood pressure as it had been rising over the last couple weeks. They put her on bedrest yesterday. This morning we got a call from the doctor telling us we needed to come in to the hospital and that we were going to have a baby in the next day or two. We are 5 weeks early and I am not sure what is going on. This is our first so I am a little nervous about her being early and why they now see such an immediacy to the situation. Please pray for us and Alyssa Brooke, our daughter to be. Thanks guys. RJV Quote

ogre03 Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 My son was born 6 weeks early. It was a rather tough time, with a lot or time spent in the hospital, but you'd never know if you saw him today. He just turned four and he is a tank. The extra week (5 weeks early) should help her out conciderably, although it won't make a daddy feel any less worried. I'll keep you in my thought's and prayers. Quote

Wallrat Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 (edited) Almost all twins are born at least that early and you know how common twins are. 5 weeks isn't usually too bad man so don't stress too much. Good luck and congrats! Edited January 3, 2006 by Wallrat Quote
odaen Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 5 weeks premie is OK, bro. my daughter was 4 weeks early and my son was 5 weeks. with my son, he just had to stay at the hospital for 2 days extra, because he couldn't keep his blood sugar levels up without an IV. Poor guy got his feet poked quite a bit. sounds like your wife is having problems with preclampsia. will send out a prayer for her too. Quote
yamahanut98 Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 he man dont be too worried 5 weeks aint bad i myself was born 10 weeks early and that was almost 18 years ago, i did stay in the hospital for an extra 3 months but i turned out completely normal(i guess) and with all the new stuff doctors do today im sure it is not abnormal to be this early at all so just be worried about bein a good dad and be happy, think of it as an early present and i hope it all goes well Quote
