From looking at the first pic, I would say its fine, although maybe a little on the lean side. Hard to tell from a pic exactly whats going on. Quote

Could raise the needle up one and see how that works. 225 main seems pretty heavy on the fuel though. Quote
Banchetta Posted December 6, 2005 Report Posted December 6, 2005 It really amazes me on how people read plugs....For one, normal riding will give you a false plug reading. So those pics are a waste of time...Two, put the plug back in and run in wide open in 6th gear for 5-10 seconds, pull the clutch in, shut it down, coast to a stop, then take a pic of the plug. Guaranteed it'll look a lot different.... Quote
face_off Posted December 6, 2005 Author Report Posted December 6, 2005 Banchetta i did i plug test with new set of plug i run it in 6th for 15 sec. pulled the clutch shot off the ignition pulled the plug out and what did i see is littel peaces of carbon on the plug with clear white color in the middle . i tryed rising the needle one clip more and in bogs more before the power band and fouls plugs on low speed riding ? I hate using new plugs. Get them colored, then run it wot. Your pipes give max hp at 1200degrees. You won't hit that just cruising around which will have a darker colored plug since your exhaust temp is low...The ground strap on the tip of the plug is your temperature teller. Over 1350 degrees and pistons will start melting..at 1200 degrees you can get max hp and safely run it wot for long periods..run it again w/ those plugs now that they have color on them.. as for the needle, trial and error, find the best low end response. If it didn't like rasing, then try lowering...find the sweet spot. Edited December 11, 2005 by Banchetta Quote

rocketboy Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 if yo u did an accurate plug chop ,and got those readings, then your too rich Quote
