typhoon1911 Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 Hey everybody... What is the purpose for removing the TORS? I know what it does, but why do people remove it? Thanks, Alan Quote
iceman Posted November 28, 2005 Report Posted November 28, 2005 theres a really badass feature on this and most other forums called search. Quote
wayfst Posted November 28, 2005 Report Posted November 28, 2005 It has a lot of safety switches that go bad and cause you to chase ghost. makes your carbs look ugly, added weight, makes your teeth go bad, and tells everyone that you're to stupid to take off the parking brake before you go riding. thats just off the top of my head, I could come up with more if you would like. typhoon1911 Posted November 28, 2005 Author Report Posted November 28, 2005 Thanks for that. It was on the top of my todo list, But the bike is running good. I'll leave it on until I have problems. Alan Quote

iceman Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 tors is heavy. you may not think it but any wieght you save is going to help. its definately worth it to take it off. its the throttle override system. if your throttle gets stuck it shuts your bike off i believe. the problem is, sometimes your throttle isnt stuck and your tors thinks it is. there are bad places for this to happen. being chased by godzilla comes to mind. leave it on if you want but youll probably take it off someday anyways. wayfst Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 (edited) the problem is that it never gives you trouble in your garage. but whatever, I don't ride with you. Edited November 29, 2005 by wayfst Quote
wooten Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 so can you just take the box off and unplug them from the carbs and do away with them or do you have to take all that shit off the backs of the carbs ????? Quote
sheecandy Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 call rocky mountain and ask for part# 01-315 its got every thing you need to remove the tors crap Quote
chevyboy51 Posted November 30, 2005 Report Posted November 30, 2005 to disable it all you have to do is unplug the box but I would strip it and change the carb tops it makes jeting a hell lot easier without it in the way Quote
northshore Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 motion pro makes a kit, give you tops, new cables, and the idle screws, i think its like 60 bucks and is really easy to instal except for the fact that you have to drill the carbs! Quote
