Quote
ogre03 Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 The piston's don't come out the bottom... To start with. Buy the manual, eventually you will need it. You can also do a serch on here for top end, and I'm sure there are about 5,000 threads on what is involved in a top end rebuild. But, to answer the origional question, as long as you get a manual, there is no reason why you can't do the wrench work yourself. You will have to pay someone to do the bore/hone on the cylinders though. Quote
NYUK Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 when a dealership says 500, that really means 900 when you pick it up. get friendly with your bike and the clymer manual.it is easy.1st you need to see how far your cylinders need to be bored.if 1 overbore will do it.order pistons and gaskets.get your jugs bored.it can be rebuilt in a few hours.you can do it for under 300, clymer included.
