Try a search on here for coolant bottle relocate. They way the hoses are routed you will get antifreeze on your pipes. Mine did the same thing until i rerouted my hoses to the

backside of my cases. problem solved. Install a temp gauge to monitor your temps to see if your really getting to hot.

first off why u need to look at it why fix it if it isnt broken

and it pumps water through your engine to keep it ccool

This is essentially your water pump. A standard car water pump has an impeller intergrated with the entire housing that most people invision. Your banshee has the impeller installed in the side case. You should check it out if you really are up on your bike, because eventually the stock impeller will wear out. Also, the design of the aftermarket impellers is far superior to the stock design. The fin configuration is a closed impeller design, so it will give you better flow of coolant. A good billet impeller will run you $80-$100 depending on the source, but I consider it cheap insurance against overheating. Oh yeah, check into relocating your bottle too.

Dude, checking or even changing your w.p. impeller is a snap.

Simply remove your clutch side case cover.

-then remove the impeller gear. be sure not to loose the snap ring or the gear pin!

-then remove the pump impeller cover(on the outside of the case cover)

-remove the brass-ish cover inside the pump cover.

-then remove the impeller.

insallation is the same only in reverse. While your in there replace the impeller with a quallity billet piece. Some cheep insurance as they say.

Also check out your clutch for any signs of break-down

Then fill er' up with some good gear oil and ya should be good to go.

Good luck :headbang:

if you get in there and see the stock pos plastic impeller, while you're messin, rip that bitch out and replace with an aluminum one. the stock one is destined to fail, and probably cause other problems. besides pieces of the busted/shredded stock one floating around your system, it blows the seal behind the impeller letting anti-freeze leak into your tranny. the anti-freeze degrades the clutch plates to the point of slipping, and eventually losing the clutch all together. it can be a costly rebuild depending on the damage done. not to mention all your tranny components getting a nice antifreeze residue on them. be proactive, not reactive in maintaining your ride and you'll have a lot less headaches. B) oh yeah, and you might as well replace the seal and bearing too if you do the impeller while you have it apart.

coolant comin out the overflow can also be caused my something pressurizing the coolant system. if u have a bad seal or maybe a bad head gasket itcan pressurize the coolant system and cause it to shoot out the overflow. mine was doin that and it happened to be a bad oring on the head. replaced it and never had the problem since..
