Or between the reeds and cylinders? Also does a 4mil with K&T porting need the V-force reeds opened up (ported)? The bike I bought had no spacers and stock reeds.. Quote

Ducman Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 +1 Reed spacers can improve or hurt performance, very slight difference either way. I dont thing you can port v-force, not very much material to the cage frame to begin with and its made of plastic. Porting stock reed cage, yes. Quote

I could'nt notice any more power when i put mine on. Also you are gunna want to get some aftermarket reeds like V2's or V3's. You bansh will love either one! Quote

On some big bore motors there isn't enough crank case volume and putting a reed spacer between the cylinder and reed might make a little more power. If you put the reed spacer between the reed cage and intake it probably would not make a noticeable difference. On a motor with smaller transfer area and some what large crank case volume adding a reed spacer between the cylinder and reed will cause a loss in performance. If you put the spacer between the carb and reed on the same motor you will have a slow lazy signal on the jets and throttle response will suffer. You probably will need to jet larger on this setup to compensate for the weak carb signal. Most banshees actually have a small crankcase volume and additional work on the transfers might benifit from adding spacers. If you do a "template" port job and don't touch the transfer tunnels at all your going to make things worse by adding spacers. Quote

They ALL said that it will smooth out the powerband so its not as peeky? Sounds of it, they are full of it eh? Quote

Trust me man... unless you are trying to clear the clutch linkage, they arent going to do a damn thing for you except lighten you wallet. Quote
