isnt the VIN engraved into the frame??..cant ya scrape the pc away?....

how thick is that stuff??

If you really don't want to scrape the powdercoat off, you can take it to the courthouse and have an inspector look at it and he/she can give you a new legal VIN. Just tell them the sandblaster took it off accidently, worked for me.

Exactly what I had to do with my orange banshee.

The woman came out and looked at it, then axed me if I could just take the powder coat off.

I then told her I had just spent nearly 200 between sand blasting and powdercoating the frame, and that even if I did, the sand blaster could have ruined the VIN anyway.

She just gave me a new metal foil tag that I had to rivet onto my frame, then get it reinspected and recorded.

 

On my drag bike I'm just going to tell them that I fabbed it myself.

Does that mean I can never register it again or what? Had the frame powdercoated now it is gone.

Pretty scary if you ask me, a stolen bike chopped up can come out with a clean frame..

Yea, it was a little easier than I thought it should be. Mabey we should stop talking about it before we give the mufkin thieves any more ideas.

Well so far ive got 2 banshees off ebay lol and no paper work, one the guy said it got sand blasted and it came off, so can i just take that frame to the courthouse u think? do i need a bill of sale or anything?

A bill of sale would be a good idea to have.
