road racer Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 Hi;Just looking to see which is better pj or pwk. What is different between them ? Is a 35 much better than 34 ? Thanks Quote
Indubitably Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 PJ is older technology, There isn't much performance difference between the two. Quote
locogato11283 Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 yea, most people are running the pwk series carbs. they have them from 30 to 40mm i believe...most common on HQ are prolly 33mm and 35mm.. Quote
rocketboy Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 pwks are the best other than lectrons of coarse. pjs dont idle right and are no longer in poduction Quote
brock_fuzzy_69 Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 yeah the biggest difference is the shape of the slide the pj is an oval shape and the pwk is more of a half moon yeah tyler it hink they come in sizes of like 28-40 or 41 but the smaller sizes like the 28 are a slightly different design as they dont ahve tops that screw on they are fastened on wtih a pair of machine screws but essentially they are all very similar and yeah the PJ doesnt idel for shit the adjustment for the idle on them is useless Quote
baddboyy21 Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 I never had a problem getting my 34 PJ's to idle. Mine idle great. The jetting is a pain to figure out because the needle that comes with the carb is junk. Quote
wesw Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 pj can me a pain to get to idle if you have a carb sync tool you can get them to idle pretty well when the bike gets warmed up. and most of them come with a ceg needle which isnt a good needle for most setups. pwk are probably nice and easier to tune or idle but cost more.
