Best Fuel Ratio

i mix my castor 927 at 36:1 but ive been having problems with that so i was told to go to 50:1 but i havent yeat. should i go to 40:1 or 50:1?

I run Silkolen 40:1, have had two hard seasons on it and still seems to be working great. Have heard allot of good stuff about it, but I better for 20 bones a qt.

i just got the maxima quick 2 mix bootle and it has 24-1,32-1,40-1,50-1,100-1..which should i use?? i run Repsol Competition oil..it has the same shit as motul so i doesnt smoke at all..just when cold...

Castor and petrolium based oils should be mixed at 32:1. Semi-synthetics, and synthetics, can be mixed at higher ratios, whatever the bottle recomends. I run golden spectro at 42:1.

I woulden't run castor927 32-1, unless you want alot of carbon build up on your cylinders and pipes.

You maybe right. Is castor 927 a semi_synthetic? Anyway, thats what I was told by a local racer who seems to know his shit. Again you may be right.

Been using Klotz for 2 years now. Smeels good and havn't had any probs yet. I run 32:1.

Wouldn't run anything else.

I personally run 40:1 Klotz Super Techniplate with Vp 110. As far as the ration is concerned the leaner the better. I know that sounds weird but from what I was taught at MMI, it makes sense. A ration of 40:1 means 40 parts gas to one part oil. According to my teachers a leaner mixture is better for cooling and preventing of fouling and "gunking" things up. Many believe that the oil is what keeps the motor cool. WRONG. The fuel is actually what keeps the engine cool. All the oil does is provide a little lubrication. If you notice when your breaking in a new bike with 20:1 or 24:1 it starts hard, fouls plugs, and most importantly gets hot and boils over. This is were the leaner mixture comes in. Even at 40:1 my pistons look great after a year of hard riding every weekend. The bottom end has plenty of oil, almost too much. I am considering going leaner.

Klotz dose smell nice....but I run bellray SI-7 @ 32:1, the low smoke formula leaves next to nothin for deposits...I've had great luk with it, used to run motul 800 but to pricey.
