Yaxy Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 (edited) I purchased a set of cases for my RZ and I want to powder coat the top case black. Has anyone powder coated their cases and is a high heat powder required? Thanks Chris Edited July 13, 2005 by Chris Yax Quote
sg30721 Posted August 8, 2005 Report Posted August 8, 2005 Hey I got the cases powder coated RED to match my RED Lonstar frame on my 250 R... after 4 years of racing they still look great... nothing has chipped or anything. Worst thing is there is a few scuff marks on one side where my boot scrubs. The cases on my Banshee are not powercoated but I would recomend doing it...maybe in a bright color like red. It really makes the bike stand out from the rest. I get comments at almost every race about my powdercoated cases. I'm really surprised more ppl dont get this done... Quote

Gloss black, and they did a magnificent job on masking too. I was really really impressed at how much care they took on those case halves. Quote
pimpeinkc Posted August 11, 2005 Report Posted August 11, 2005 that would be sweet. i just painted my cylinders and they look great. not powder coat though, i used caliper paint since i am crazy for brake cleaner and it eats most paint. Quote
2001929 Posted October 3, 2007 Report Posted October 3, 2007 thinking about doing my banshee cases, how do you get the rubber motor mount bushings out of cases, what else needs removed Quote
Rock-46 Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 I just had my cases powder coated too. They came out pretty good. I did them red, to match my frame, and coated the cylinders in a flat black. Just make sure whoever does the coating tapes everything off really good so no powder gets inside. Quote
