I just sold my PC's to my buddy I guess cause I felt bad for him. He has a +4 stroker ported and all and was still running the stock pipes. :( So now I am looking for another brand. Been searching on here and I about have my mind made up on DMC 916's.

Can anyone with DMC's tell what they think or can anyone tell me what pipe would benefit be best? Haven't got my Shee back together yet, but made a sig with everything I have done to it. Will be out at the dunes quite a bit, but will be riding back roads and climbing hills to. Went ahead and got the Dune port, because I can change pipes and carbs later when I really really want to rip, but didn't want the MX port. Will have to sacrifice low or high end somewhere but doesn't matter which one. I really don't need a pipe that will rev to the moon cause I will still be running stock carbs w/ ported jugs. Any pipe is better for stock, but don't want a pipe that will actually hurt my performance like a stock pipe. If no one rejects to me wanting DMC's I am going with those.

I have read that the 916's mounting system on the silencers aren't the best and I can fix that, but haven't heard the fit of the header pipe on the jugs? And how are the Chrome finishes on them?

Appreciate anyones help,

Justin

P.S. My elevation is 450' if that means anything to you guys.

two of my buddies have/had dmc's and one is runnin ported cyls and the other running unported cyls..my buddy with the unported cyls loves the pipes but my buddy that got portwork done doesnt like the way the pipes react to porting...i rode the bike when he ported it and i didnt think it ran as strong as it should so we put a set of toomeys i had layin around on it and he has never takin the toomeys off..the bike ran alot stronger with the toomeys...theyre a very nice sounding pipe and they are good for all around riding whether its at the track on the trails or in the dunes..i highly reccomend the toomey t-5's..i've ran many pipes and for overrall riding the toomeys are the best on a ported motor..they react very well to mods..you can drag race with 'em or trail ride..thats what i like about them..if you dont care to sacrifice a little bottom then cpi's are what you want..they just arent as great on the trails as the t-5's but the cpi's have more mid to top pull for sure..i drag the majority of the time so i run cpi's but sounds like you would be the happiest with t-5's..just my 2 cents

Well actually, CPI's were 2nd on my list. I was just wanting the 916's because I want to be different. I would get Toomy's, but everyone has them....yes I know why cause it is an AWESOME pipe. But the next pipe is CPI's. So I think I will go with them. Just heard that the jetting is sometimes hard to achieve and minor fitting problems but the fitting doesn't bother me....its the jetting.

I wish I could fit the DMC 916 silencer with the CPI header pipes. B) Don't how the pipe will react to the silencer though.

P.S. The bad thing about the CPI's is that I know I will need bigger carbs now.

my brother in law runs the 916

has a pretty good port on stock stroke.

the bike runs really well. the dmc pull from bottom to top.

but for more of a dune port like you have

get some shearers. they pull like a mofo and you wont have an asshole pipe

cpi & t5 are asshole pipes, every asshole has them. they are good but you wanted to be different

actually i'm runnin a motor with a full drag port and cpis and i'm still runnin stock carbs with 450 jets..tried to sets of bigger carbs but stock worked best lol

Yea CPI's are a great pipe- 05Bansh has a set, and he runs stock carbs. Let me tell ya that F**CKER RIPS!!!!!! In fact thats why I bought my shee.

But I think for the terrain you described, the T5's would work best. JMO

The T-5's are a very good pipe.I think you would be happy with them.I liked the set I had.For a stronger mid to top end pipe,CPI or shearer are awesome.I have shearer pipes on mine. They are extremely impressive to me.

Shearers are one of my choices. Jim @ Passion has been trying to sell me a set. But I have heard that the finish aren't the best. That is why I think I amy choose CPI's. I do want to go with Shearers, but I want the bike to look good also.

Can anyone with Shearers give me their opinions on the finish???

Jim is the one who built your engine, so I would listen to him. Also if you havent, your going to have to ditch the airbox with shearers.
