  1. Haveing some issues with midrange jetting on bike. Mods are in sig. Info to know: 90* weather with high humidity, 450' elevation, 15/39 gearing on 20" tires, 240# body weight, 40:1 Honda GN2 oil, BR9ES plugs (1 step colder), carbs are currently 150 mains, 50 pilots, a/f screw 2 turns out, CGL needle clip on 4th setting from butt end. Have not run plug chop to see if mains are good, but plug looks good from what I can tell. Midrange is real sluggish. Had needle on 3rd clip cause even though I thought I might be rich, something was telling me I am actually lean. It made a little difference, but not much. I have read posts that a CEL needle works better on these carbs cause it is richer and they need more fuel in 1/4 to 3/4 throttle. Can someone give me a little guidance? Thanks, Justin
  2. I need help narrowing down a problem. Entire motor has around 7 hours on it. It just started having Motorcraft Type F tranny fluid coming out of the front breather tube on the clutch cover. Other than that the bike does not act different. Does not smoke abnormally, both pipes smoke the same, both plugs look the same. Have changed the fluid 3 times, the last time begin when it started overflowing out. Fluid capacity is about 1 1/2 quarts. Never had any noticable particules when drainging fluid. I also want to note that the trans will not shift under load in 2-3, 3-4, and 4-5 whether I am using the clutch or not. May just need to be adjusted on the shaft under the clutch cover, but wanted to note. I have spent the last hour running searches, but nothing exactly like what I have. One post did have fluid coming out the front breather also, but never had a reply to guide exactly what it may be. EDIT: I also want to note that on the very bottom of the cases there are 2 little places that look like "A ball bearing on the end of a spout of a water bottle for a rabbitt" if you know what I mean and there is oil...yes oil leaking out of those. Has done it since day 1 of the rebuild. I use Honda GN2 oil with my gas miced now at 48:1. Bike does smoke pretty good though. Don't know what they are there for. Appreciate any help, Justin
  3. It is still for sale. $4,000. Cranked it up the other day and rode it for 20 minutes burning the rest of the gas that was left in there from over a year ago. 100% stock and not one thing wrong with it. Justin
  4. Sure, I have had 3 Ford Lightings in my time. Justin
  5. From our conversation over phone text, let me know what you decide to do. Thanks, Justin
  6. Sorry, rmsarver. I never knew you posted on here. The bike is still for sale. I was thinking it may be worth $5,000 still. Justin
  7. Straight up honest guy. Bought cylinders from him and just trusted him by sending a money order and not doing Paypal. He shipped them as soon as he got the money and also called me a few days later to make sure I recieved them and ask if they were what he said they would be. He even packaged them well just in case someone through the mail wanted to kick them around a little. I would not mind doing business with him again. Thanks Brian. Justin
  8. Appreciate the reply, but I just sent money out to Brian a few hours ago for his. Thanks, Justin
  9. Prefer anything at or under .040 overbore if they are ready to go. Do not want to bore over .040 Thanks, Justin
  10. I bought it new last March or so and only bought it to ride w/ my 2 other buddies on the back roads since my Banshee was apart. They both moved off an hour away for work and they don't ride anymore, so no use keeping it. It's bone stock with the only thing ever done is an oil and filter change and grease the arms and oil the chain. I did remove a cover on one side though to tighten some bolts I had heard been backing off on the '06 models, but all was good. Bike has maybe around 40 hours on it total. 95% ridden back roads. I have a new K&N filter and some extra jets for it too. Have the title to it and it is clear. Condition in my opinion is excellent shape not counting the tires though since it has been ridden mostly on paved roads the tires I would say are already down to 60% on the back. I don't know how much these bikes are going for now used. I gave $7,000 for it and didn't have to pay any taxes, so I guess I am willing to listen to some offers. E-mail me for more pictures JBlackwell69@aol.com Thanks, Justin 903-720-2979
  11. Got a hold of Jim. He said to start at 155 main and 55 pilot and back off from there if need be. Thanks, Justin
  12. Well, its been over a year and a half since I have gotten my motor built and has set in the box in storage since then. I haven't had time to do anything with it until last week. Have the frame back to a rolling chassis now and the motor is set in. Quad has been apart for then 2 years and still hunting down bolts, nuts, etc. But to the point, I have new PWK's to put on and I need some jet sizes for main & pilot to start with. You can get other mods from my sig and I am at 400' elevation. I appreciate your help, Justin
  13. OK, ended up upgrading to 33mm PWK's and bought a new set of Shearer pipes. Can anyone of you guys give me the main jet and pilot jet sizes for my mods listed in my sig. Need all the jets from 40* to 100* weather and from Sea level to 1,500' elevation. And where should I start with 90* weather and 400' elevation? Appreciate your help guys, Justin
  14. He put in 330 mains. Still has the 25 pilots in cause he said the 30 pilots I gave him won't fit. I guess when I bought them, they gave me the wrong ones. He set the needles the 2nd setting from the blunt end. He said it feels like he is running the carb bowls dry cause when he hits 6th it almost dies. The plugs have some gas on them, but when he lets it dry it is a goldish brown color. He also has the air screw 1 3/4 turns out. Justin
  15. I will be running Clamp-ons anyways so that is all taken care of there. If you guys say the finish is nice I wil give Jim a hollar and get some heading this way. Justin
  16. Shearers are one of my choices. Jim @ Passion has been trying to sell me a set. But I have heard that the finish aren't the best. That is why I think I amy choose CPI's. I do want to go with Shearers, but I want the bike to look good also. Can anyone with Shearers give me their opinions on the finish??? Justin
  17. Buddy lives in Houston needs some help. I sold him my pipes so he has Pro Curcuits now, +4 stroker, bored stock carbs, stock jugs, clamp-on K&N's, stock reeds, stock timing, stock head, stock plugs, bored .030 I believe, @ 100' elevation. He mixes his gas 40:1 Can any of you guys help him out? Let me know. I gave him 330, 340, & 350 main jets and 30 pilots to take back with him. Don't know what stock pilots are. Thanks, Justin
  18. Well actually, CPI's were 2nd on my list. I was just wanting the 916's because I want to be different. I would get Toomy's, but everyone has them....yes I know why cause it is an AWESOME pipe. But the next pipe is CPI's. So I think I will go with them. Just heard that the jetting is sometimes hard to achieve and minor fitting problems but the fitting doesn't bother me....its the jetting. I wish I could fit the DMC 916 silencer with the CPI header pipes. Don't how the pipe will react to the silencer though. Justin P.S. The bad thing about the CPI's is that I know I will need bigger carbs now.
  19. I just sold my PC's to my buddy I guess cause I felt bad for him. He has a +4 stroker ported and all and was still running the stock pipes. So now I am looking for another brand. Been searching on here and I about have my mind made up on DMC 916's. Can anyone with DMC's tell what they think or can anyone tell me what pipe would benefit be best? Haven't got my Shee back together yet, but made a sig with everything I have done to it. Will be out at the dunes quite a bit, but will be riding back roads and climbing hills to. Went ahead and got the Dune port, because I can change pipes and carbs later when I really really want to rip, but didn't want the MX port. Will have to sacrifice low or high end somewhere but doesn't matter which one. I really don't need a pipe that will rev to the moon cause I will still be running stock carbs w/ ported jugs. Any pipe is better for stock, but don't want a pipe that will actually hurt my performance like a stock pipe. If no one rejects to me wanting DMC's I am going with those. I have read that the 916's mounting system on the silencers aren't the best and I can fix that, but haven't heard the fit of the header pipe on the jugs? And how are the Chrome finishes on them? Appreciate anyones help, Justin P.S. My elevation is 450' if that means anything to you guys.
