pyropaul Posted June 29, 2005 Report Posted June 29, 2005 So I am ready to do some upgrades to my Quote
ssanddemon Posted June 29, 2005 Report Posted June 29, 2005 Port job and new pistons (might as well since you're in there anyway), weld the crank and case match the cylinders. You'll probably need a beefier clutch to hold the power. Also, my bike really liked the 13 tooth front sprocket for Dumont and Glamis. Quote
decon Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 porting, and while your at it a fresh top end. like sand demon said new clutch definately, and a pair of keihin 28 mm carbs. Quote
yamaha350 Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 port it, but dont change the carbs. we always have better power from the stockers. just yank off the tors system. but if you have a grand to spend, throw in a 4mill storker crank. Quote
pyropaul Posted June 30, 2005 Author Report Posted June 30, 2005 sounds like porting is the popular choice. Any ideas where to get this work done in Nor Cal? I live in Vacaville to be exact but work in the bay area and make my way up towards Sacramento some times. Quote
decon Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 for the best results, might want to send your cylinders out. jim at passion does any style porting including a bore job for 375, and gives a nice deal on a piston kit, lot of people recommend him. you've also got patriot racing, they have a nice dune port, might want to check them out also, but I hear they are busy all the time. theirs alot of other places, just narrow it down to what builder you want to go with. personally i'd go with either passion or patriot, anyone else with good dune ports please chime in. damn your in vacaville? pretty close, im in the bay area, san leandro area. i go to carnegie, hollister, and pismo. how far out is dumont and sand mountain? wanted to go to both fo the 2 because me and a few only been to pismo dunes, want to see some bigger stuff. want to go out to glamis too. locogato11283 Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 what kinda riding do you do? and to get most power you will most def need to switch carbs. Quote
sheerider11 Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 definetly port it, or get reeds probly delta vforce 3's they are suppossed to be bitchin Quote
hittintrees srh Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 definetly port it, or get reeds probly delta vforce 3's they are suppossed to be bitchin 387173[/snapback] like he said. Quote
GYTWYPT Posted July 1, 2005 Report Posted July 1, 2005 I would have to second Jim at Passion. I came across a deal on one of his 12 port kits. The builder i am using said it was kinda hard for him to compliment port work since he does it himself, but he said it looked real good. Definetly Port, and like someone said if you have the cash go with a 4mil stroker. you should be able to get a port job and a 4mil set up for around a grand. Quote
