Gargamel Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 Why would they waste the time to put efi in the craptor. I was hoping to see efi in the 450 Wonder if the new Kaw 450 will have efi? Not that I'll ever get rid of the shee but a 4 stroke for the old lady is in the future. Quote

Actually if Yamaha is going to make it, it's worth putting efi on. What I wouldn't give for a banshee with efi with an ecu. Just add a power commander to it and tuning would be a snap. Quote
hittintrees srh Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 dudes, I was lookin at trickracing.com, they make kitts for fuel injected, intercooled, turbocharged banshee's now somebody tell me that aint sick Quote

Donoyfz450 Posted June 25, 2005 Report Posted June 25, 2005 They didnt just add EFI to the rappy,,,the tottally redone the raptor from the ground up! New engine,,,totally new suspension geometry,,,everything is new,,,,not just the EFI. Its basically a whole new quad with a slight resemblance of the old Raptor. Quote

TRI-Z 250 Posted June 26, 2005 Report Posted June 26, 2005 Didn't the new dirt wheels magazine say that the new 450 is coming with the EFI too? I thought i read that but may be wrong. Quote
Nightrider Posted June 26, 2005 Report Posted June 26, 2005 The original Raptor engine was derived from a european streetbike. The streetbike engine got fuel injection over a year ago.It was going to be implemented sooner or later. I think its great, the 450's will have nothing on the Raptors period. That raptor engine is so corked up,I'm willing to bet you can get very close to 60 h.p with bolt ons. It will be the end of rejetting Quote
rebelbanshee2 Posted June 26, 2005 Report Posted June 26, 2005 I still dont get why people go nuts over EFI so much... The last think I want on something that is being slammed through dirt, mud, water and rocks is some other computer gizmo to screw up and cause trouble. Ive had enough trouble with electric start on quads to know as little electronics as possible is better. I bet a carbed bike is just as fast as a FIed bike and probably just as easy to tune. Difference is a carbed bike will be lighter and will be much more reliable. If I got a raptor700 the first thing I do to the thing is put a set of carbs on it.....But thats just me Quote

Dead Op Posted June 26, 2005 Report Posted June 26, 2005 THe EFI will not make the machine go any faster Quote
Gargamel Posted June 27, 2005 Author Report Posted June 27, 2005 I still dont get why people go nuts over EFI so much............. 385878[/snapback] well the reason I look forward to efi is ... 1 better throttle responce 2 (and the big one for me) When I ride around town I'm at ~1800ft, then when I go to the lake to ride ~3000ft at the campsites and 5000-6000 ft where we go riding at. So you can see my huge jetting problem around here. Not to mention the few times going down to St. Anthonys. I have my carbs apart way more then I like too. Quote
