dogboystoy Posted May 27, 2005 Report Posted May 27, 2005 Just bought the Traxxas REVO. I should get it today via Fedex. A buddy of mine recommended it. This thing is a 2.5cc Nitro. It is RTR, electric starter, 2 speed forward and reverse. This is supposed to be the best of the best. So I will see for sure once I get some good run time. Anyone else have this thing yet? Quote

loganskinner Posted May 27, 2005 Report Posted May 27, 2005 i had a Tmaxx with the 2.5 motor. loved it. ive seen one of the revos run. pretty fuckin quick. nice man. Quote
RATBIKE0130 Posted May 27, 2005 Report Posted May 27, 2005 I have a Revo... been running strong for the last 3 months of bashing. I got rid of the ezstart and installed a pull start. Really pay attention to the needle settings. Don't rely on the starting system to prime the fuel lines... blow air into the tank pressure line. Keep the airfilter clean and run good fresh fuel and it will last a long time and be reliable. Quote

The line being long is a good thing, gets rid of foaming (dont run traxxas fuel.....it really sucks and really foams). I run trinity 20%. The revo is sooooo much faster than the tmaxx. I've launched it about 10-15 feet into the air and the thing handles like a dream in the air, you hit the brake and the nose drops instantly and rev it and it brings it up, and lands like its on pillows. It's also fun to rip it through rock fields and watch the suspension work. It'll walk up any curb and down anything you can throw at it. Quote
jjfizzle51 Posted May 27, 2005 Report Posted May 27, 2005 i got a savage its way fun its kinda like the revo besides a little bit slower i think Quote
JA66 Posted May 28, 2005 Report Posted May 28, 2005 (edited) I've got a Kyosho mp7.5 (buggy), a t-maxx and an e-maxx (both maxx's being modified now). Another way to prime it is while you cranking the engine over (without the glow igniter on) put your finger over the exhaust until you see the fuel go in the carb (goes much quicker), then put your igniter on and start it. fast87 Posted May 28, 2005 Report Posted May 28, 2005 it won't wear out your one way bearing if you don't hydro lock the engine, in that case you should stop turning it over, remove glow plug, turn truck upside down and hit the EZ start, then re-inatall glowplug and prime it just so the fuel hits the fuel inlet nipple on the carb.. it won't hurt your one way if done right and not fllooding it ~Mark~ Quote
jjfizzle51 Posted May 29, 2005 Report Posted May 29, 2005 hey since were talking about rc trucks i was driving my savage the other day. and it stoped going the motors rpms wents way high and loud to, the motor is fine the spur gear is fine. oh ya i was running rear wheel drive when it happend, then i switched to front wheel drive then the front went out ( i never learn) anyone know whats up i still dont know much about them thanks Quote
fast87 Posted May 29, 2005 Report Posted May 29, 2005 i can almost guarantee you blew out your differentials(diffs), the savage stock has only 2 gears in there, but there's a mod for it to have 4 gears, find HPI's wensite and look there i believe they offer a kit for this, if not check ebay or your local hobby shop..and when you put it back together make sure the 4 screws holding the diff together are tight as hell, they loosen and allow too much slop, resulting in your diff stripping out...they're hard to get to but worth the effort in the end, and using 4 gears you won't strip out the diffs again(as long as the screws are very tight) ~Mark~ Quote
jjfizzle51 Posted May 29, 2005 Report Posted May 29, 2005 any idea how much 4 new diffs wil cost me and how much is the kit with 4 gears thanks Quote
