87sheerips Posted May 17, 2005 Report Posted May 17, 2005 ok im lookin at these 10 paddle sand sharks for a good price. wondering if they r too much for my bike. Im bored .100 over, ported, 34 mm keihins, fatty pipes, head is shaved .20. I think i should be fine, its my first paddle tires purchase. a lil assistamce would be great!! Quote
Lepew Posted May 17, 2005 Report Posted May 17, 2005 I replied to your first post about this. Everyone has a opinion what is best but everone rides different. If you get them for a really good price than try them. You can always sell them for what you paid for them right? Quote
Oilsmoke Posted May 17, 2005 Report Posted May 17, 2005 10 paddle Sand sharks? I didn't know them made more than 8's I would get 8 paddle Hauler in 21x12x8. Great do it all paddle. Quote
Justintoxicated Posted May 17, 2005 Report Posted May 17, 2005 (edited) I would not do it man! First Sharks are already super heavy, + you don't really have enough hp and torque to pull them. Since your ported I would go for 8 paddle extreme haulers. If your fully drag ported you could probably run 9's depending on conditions but I would stick with 8's...Unless all you do is drag... if you dune your going to HATE them. With 10's you might get a better launch but you will lose some top speed due to having too much weight and paddle. if your stroked 4 mil drag ported than maybe 10 paddle non-extremes.. Oh yea forgot to mention it depends on yoru tire size also... get yourself a pair of these 20x10x10 This is a pic of the 8 paddle extremes vs SDD's Larger Skat Track's they are 8 paddle non-extreme, I think his are 22x11x10 or something I don't really remember...Anyways go with the extremes as the paddles are re-enforced they are only available in 20x10x10 sizes anyways. I do not think they make s 22x12x8 but they sound a bit too large. if you go with the larger size you can get 10 paddle non-extremes but they are still better oriented for drag unless you like sliding around in the dunes with huge rear tires.... Sand Tires last a long time so whatever you get you will have them a while...I'm sorta wishing I had goen with 9's now, but only because I plan on getting Cheata Cubs in the near future! locogato11283 Posted May 17, 2005 Report Posted May 17, 2005 10 paddles are gonna be too much for you. i think id go with 8. i run 9 paddle extreme haulers on my banshee but i got a lot of power and a +4 arms. if i had 10's i think id be riding wheelies everywhere... Quote
RNBRAD Posted May 17, 2005 Report Posted May 17, 2005 if i had 10's i think id be riding wheelies everywhere... Yep the 10's will wheelie like crazy. Quote

wesw Posted May 18, 2005 Report Posted May 18, 2005 i run 10 paddles. havent had a problem with them. i know bdbanshee does also. they hook up really well. i havent ever ran 8,9 paddles i dont see how 10 paddles kill your top speed. if they are 20 in they will be 20 in 8 or 10 paddles the same.
