Banshee~ Posted May 15, 2005 Report Posted May 15, 2005 Around 340 mains (if your at sea level) , 27.5-30 pilot, adjust air screws. Your going to smoke your friend, for your next mod you need to get some good back tires. Quote

ssanddemon Posted May 16, 2005 Report Posted May 16, 2005 340 sounds awful big. I'm at 310s with the mods in my sig. Quote
chris642 Posted May 16, 2005 Report Posted May 16, 2005 your mains should be at 280 to 300 with those mods. mine was at 280 with T6's, stock pilots and that toomey needle,i forget which clip though. You have a better filter so you may be a little bigger. You can buy a jet kit off www.toomey.com for that. T6's are great pipes, if i had not of got my bike ported, i would still have them. They sound kick ass and have great bottom end. They are the best looking pipes too in my opinion!! Quote
locogato11283 Posted May 16, 2005 Report Posted May 16, 2005 i would guess 27.5 pilot and 320 main...parts look good man..let us know how it runs... Quote
Droppedatbirth Posted May 16, 2005 Author Report Posted May 16, 2005 For sure i will post up some pics after i get it all in the mail and installed ... would the yamaha dealership do the jetting and shit right ? Quote
ssanddemon Posted May 16, 2005 Report Posted May 16, 2005 (edited) I wouldn't trust em. If you have a shop with a dyno they could do a good job, but usually you have just got to get an assortment of jets and go for it. It's a pain in the ass, but 280 to 310 jets are going to be your range I'm thinking. I would drop in 300 jets at home and see how shee runs when you get to your riding place. You'll probably be awful close- I have TR-6s and I was at factory pilots and I think 280 mains (sea level) before the other mods. Edit: before motor mods but with K&Ns. NEVER SATISFIED Posted May 16, 2005 Report Posted May 16, 2005 def try a 300 first and go WOT see if she bogs racin your friend.. if so then go down.. if not then go up on the main.. leave the pilot stock for now till you dial in that main cuz once you change your main to what ya need then decide to throw in a pilot.. it may .. may... may throw off that main. AWESOME CHOICES!!!! Quote
dajogejr Posted May 17, 2005 Report Posted May 17, 2005 (edited) 340 is fat. You're going to end up with 290 to 320 mains. I've got 330's in mine...and a month ago when it was 40's and 50's...it was good. Last trip I went on this weekend it was 70s...and just a tad fat. I'm gonna drop to 320s for the summer fun. 27.5 pilots are fine. I'm gonna try 25 pilots in mine...I have 27.5's now...and the air screws are about 2.25 turns out. I'm in MI, and at sea level to 1000 ft. I have this filter kit w/ outerwear...and the K&N pod filters. I don't notice a difference...but it's nice having a spare filter for a long weekend of riding instead of having to clean 'em after a long ride!! You will notice a huge difference in performace AND sound. I bought my shee in Feb., my buddy had stock pipes. Any aftermarket pipe on the shee is night and day difference....stock pipes are quite possibly the worst design in history...the shee motor has so much potential....any one will tell you first thing it needs is pipes... T6's are good with bolt on mods, T5's for stock and ported motors. You'll probably beat your buddy...but I don't think you'll smoke him. Then again, wise man say racing is 10% bike, 90% rider....
