hi guys

ok i bought my banshee from a guy that prolly couldnt tell the difference from a moped and a ducatti 999 so he didnt know much. i paid $2400 and im 16 so im not an expert but i know my motors. anyway he said it was drag ported but idk if it actually was. it has toomey t-5's, a paul turner duncan motor. he said it was shipped to a speed shop and built. toomey clutch? pro designs cool head. pro design 17 domes. LRD tranny. boyeson power reeds and boyeson valves. wiseco pistons. k&n pod filters. thats about all the performance stuff he told me about. its fast no doubt but ive seen videos of banshees that would rape mine no prob in a race. i can burn out in 4th from dead stop. i just thought that was kinda fun. anyway how can i tell if its ported or not. when i got it it ran around 100 with 16 44 gearing with 22" tires on it. it now has 13-41 gearing. iw as also wondering if anyone knows where i can get cheap headlights and a front bumper or if any of you have used ones that you would wanna pass on for some $$. thanks guys. ride hard

How do you know it ran about 100mph? What did you use to determine the speed. A calculation of your 16/44 gearing and 22" tires says you should be doing about 85mph in 6th gear.

As the others said..you would have to look at the intakes to see if they are bigger than stock. You should be able to notice the difference just by looking.

If it was ported it should probably have a timing advance also, and with those domes I'm thinking it should definitely be running race gas.

Take a carb off. Remove the reed cage. Look inside the intake.

Black painted= Not Ported

Bright Aluminum that looks like someone took a dremmel to it= Ported

If you are running 100MPH, you must have a moderate ammount of engine work done. You need to know and understand these modifications before you do damage to the motor.

Souds like a strong runner!

no fucking way a 100. i run LOTS of pavement and my friends bike is fast. he has port work/pod filters/t-5s/prPD cool head/16/41 gearing and he ran 92 on RADAR. I'm here to tell ya 90 at the MOST and thats being nice.

it could very well be closer to 90 than 100. i didnt mean to piss anyone off when statin the speed of my quad. its prolly feels faster than it is. im gonna check on the porting and see if it is or nto and illl radar it this weekend or somethin. thanks guys

i think they are the stock 26mm carbs. and i really dont know on the speed. i was just makin a crude estimate it wasnt scientific :P idk what the stock speed is for a banshee. idk where i heard this but i heard it was at around 92 but thats gotta be off. i know my bike runs at least 75 but over that idk. its slower now cause i regeared it to 13 41 and i have some smaller tires on there right now so its totally turned from speed to torque. ill speed check it with this gearing and tire size. the tires are 18's. ill see what the speed comes out too. thanks guys
