Animalman294 Posted May 9, 2005 Report Posted May 9, 2005 I probably already know the answer to this question, but hey it never hurts to ask. Which repair manual do you guys prefer, I mean which one is better at explaining the prcedures to tear your bike apart? I know with the Clymer manual or the Haynes they give you just enough info to make you dangerous, but enough to get you by. I mean I have a clymer manual for my CBR 600, and am still trying to figure out what the electrical problem is. I mean the book helps, but it is kind-a vague in a few areas.......... So help me out here guys, which manual do you prefer? Quote
sheefreak Posted May 9, 2005 Report Posted May 9, 2005 I prefer the factory service manuals over both. Have used all three and the factory ones are the best in my opinion. You will pay almost ten bucks more for them at Rockymauntainatv.com. Just bought one for a 250r for 35.00 plus shippin. Honda sells them for $75. Quote
locogato11283 Posted May 9, 2005 Report Posted May 9, 2005 clymer used here. well i used to use it to take the motor apart but i dont use it much anymore. i can do it blindfolded now. Quote
Klotzban1 Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 I use clymer too. I also have a service manuel on cd. Its the same thing all the dealerships have that they think we don't...LOL. It shows parts, diagrams and procedures. On your PC you can zoom in or out on a specific area of the diagrams, scroll and print and take it to the garage with you to have on your work desk. I got mine off of ebay. I'll try to post a pic of it soon. Quote
ssanddemon Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 Clymer. Like Loco says, most mechanic-oriented guys use it once per type of repair, then just for torque specifications and such. Quote
XxMeltIcexX Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 Clymer. Like Loco says, most mechanic-oriented guys use it once per type of repair, then just for torque specifications and such. 367129[/snapback] Clymer has been the best for me so far... it has great diagrams if your mechanically inclined...the CD thing is pretty neat also... i walk in the stealership and give them a part number and its done.. not like i buy any stock stuff for my shee anyways... 98basketbanshee Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 Ebay you can buy a regular service manual cd for like 5.00 plus shiping i got one excelent you can print stuff out then dont worry about gitting stuff dirty reall nice Quote
98bonerSTOCKshee Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 I get CLYMERS for anything I decide to work on... It's like my bible, if I get stumped I break it out.. The clymers shows short cuts and/or tricks to remove stuff. Stuff that the service manual tells you to take to a reliable mechanic to repair...(yeah right) Quote
