SICK BOY Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 (edited) That "octangonal shaped thing" is the bearing locknut, and it has to be backed out (just like a Banshee). You can buy the tool for it,or I bought and welded two nuts together that fit inside it and backed it out with a wrench. Cotton eyed Joe Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 I sell a wrench for that. Laser cut to fit nicely, and it snaps over the end of a ratchet, so after you reassemble you can use your torque wrench on it too. Quote
'99350t Posted May 4, 2005 Author Report Posted May 4, 2005 well thanks guys. i thought that thing had to come out. i just got a really big nut and bolt, welded them together, but was reafin on it pretty hard so i stopped. is it regular threads? (left to loosen) thanks again. Quote

smokin350 Posted May 4, 2005 Report Posted May 4, 2005 i hate that bearing, i had a 30mm hex head piece of billet that my buddy who works at Honda gave me to use cause that's what he uses and u just put a crestent wrench on it and it's suppose to work except when i dropped my frame off to get powder coated the guy PC 'd the bearing and it was stuck in there i heated it up with a torch and no dice i tried everything and nothing so i managed to get the bearing free to spin and didn't burn any of the rubber seal around the bearing so i just used it i was so pissed but oh well go luck!!!!!
