jonnyrebel2004 Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 I am looking at putting a set of Vito pistons in my shee. I was looking at there web site and noticed the had several different kinds. There is the VITO'S FORGED POWER, which is suppose to add +6 LOW TO MID HORSEPOWER TO YOUR ENGINE, then there is the VITO'S FORGED SUPERSTOCK, which is suppose to add ADDS +8 HORSEPOWER TO YOUR ENGINE, then there is the VITO'S CAST POWER which is suppose have the SAME LOW TO MID +6 HORSEPOWER AS THE FORGED VERSION. Of these that I listed, or maybe one that I didnt list that is good, whcih do yall think is the best and do they really add the HP they claim? Thanks Travis Quote

I now have my port job back and installed, got it in last week...Well I had wisecos but I had both my wrist pin bearings fail this weekend and ruin both my pisons and tear the hell out of my cylinders so I am now thinking about Vitos because they are suppose to give you more HP but I am not sure that is true. Thats something else I am trying to find out. Quote
Capone Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 its very true, i've ran every vito's piston short of the big bore...lol. SuperStock if your going vito's. But you being ported already I dunno. I got these with stock porting, noticable difference, but the weight i believe slacked low end. Power Pistons were shorter I noticed, powerband was like a lightswitch either on or off. Both held up great, those keystone wrings are the shit... but I got Wiseco ProLites this rebuild, I must say, I forgot how nice it was to have my shee rev up so fast. Wiseco <3. Btw, I heard Wiseco don't make Vito's shit anymore, someone second me on that. Quote

juldan1 Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 I have the vito super stock and they seem to be holdin up. I believe that I feel a sizable difference. Quote

RBD Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 (edited) I have an issue with Vito's pistons, both the forged and the cast. I have built many engines using all of the different pistons Vito's sell and have noticed that they do not wear well. The pistons are much shorter in the skirt length. This causes more wear on the bore, rings and the piston it self. They do run great, but short lived. If your engine is ported don't use the Vito's ported pistons. Edited March 15, 2005 by RBD Quote

I would like to get some that might give me a little more HP, if ya know what I mean. Quote
FadedDreams Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 Heres the reply i got from Dan@Patriot Racing: "For a ported motor you must use Wiseco Pro Lites. The Vito pistons have gotten better but with a ported motor they arent necessary and in fact most cases cant be used as they increase the port timing too much." Being that you have a woods port,it might not matter so much, but i still wouldn't risk it. Quote
