I did a search and couldn't find anything on this. Me and a buddy were jetting my Shee and noticed that both carb slides won't come all the way down at idle. What could be causing this. The needles are brand new and im sure they aren't tweaked. Help me out here guys...this crap is driving me insane.

Throttle cable length, idle screw (if you dont have tors) how do you know they are not going all the way down? The cutout should be to the rear and would make it appear to not get going all the way down. Got a picture of it??

Sounds like the wrong slide in the wrong carb, there is a right and left slide.

I doubt thats the problem because i rode it last summer and it ran fine. This was the first time opening the carbs to jet it because of the pipes and filter i just put on it. So I dunno...Maybe the previous owner put them in reverse...but would it still run right like that. I know when we rejetted and tried to run it it would just bog no matter where the throttle position was put past idle position.

if they where put in backwards it would rev like mad when you start it. My buddy did that......ONCE.......

Just so i don't look like an ass.... :shootself: .....the aft carb slides are supposed to be all the way down at zero throttle right? I'm no mechanic and my buddy who has a dirtbike is the one helping me on this and he says it is. Not that i don't trust a dirtbike rider... <_< .....but i figured i'd make sure anyway.

THINK WE'D REALLY LIKE A PIC OF IT... BUT ARE YOU WANTING THE WHOLE SLIDE TO BE COMPLETELY SHUT MAKING WHERE THE BOTTOM OF THE SLIDE TOUCHES THE BOTTOM OF THE CARB?

Yeah...like i said i don't know much about these things. I'm going off of what my dirtbike buddy says. He is the one helping me out with this. I guess you're saying it isn't supposed to touch the bottom?

I DONT BELIEVE I HAVE EVER SEEN MINE TOUCH... FROM WHEN IT WAS STOCK AND I DID A REBUILD TO NOW WITH THE NEW MODS... THE SLIDE HAS TO BE OPEN A LITTLE BIT OR ELSE IT WONT START. HENCE WHEN YOU GIVE IT GAS THEY SLIDE UP. CLOSING THEM ALL THE WAY IS LIKE SHUTTING OFF THE GAS SUPPLY MAKING YOU HAVE TO GIVE IT SOME GAS AND KEEP THE THUMBING THE THROTTLE TO KEEP ER RUNNING...

I'm not doubting you "never satisfied", but can anyone confirm this.
