eric gorr doesnt claim to have these "secret 4 mil x motors" that make 120hp.  he just does little old port jobs for 225 that blow away other port jobs that cost double.  If Eric or anyone did have these such engines, you would hear about them on PS because those guys over there would  eat cat food if they thought it would shave .01 of a second off thier 300ft time.

exactly. and by the way my brothers gorr woods port made 58 hp. and i know to alot of ppl numbers are everything but he was flat out stomping some 7mm and 8mm motors at our hillclimbs last year.

An "aggressive woods port" that turns 56HP isn't worth more than $225.  The people that have the X motors didn't have them built until the end of last season.  They are just now starting to get them on the track.  There isn't very many of the X's out yet.  The ones that are aren't the high HP time bomb version that Jim has talked about.  They are still in design.  As far as I know, Jim NEVER stated he already had engines turning 120HP.  He simply said that is what he is expecting.

Actually the X-3's were not shipped until the last 30 days along with the only X-1 that I have built. XR's are a completed design and have built and shipped several of those(my most radical quasi-recreational motor). X-3's are a test motor for the ultimate project X which the design work is complete on. The real problem is time. I work myself nearly to death just to keep up with my MX, TT, ST, and Duners so my turn-around times are not just absurd, and actually they are already. On top of that Im doing design work on Cub upgrade porting and dome designs. Final X versions will require my own pipes, domes and reed assembly's of my own design which is going to be a real chore considering how much money it takes to get that happening.. Hopefully this will all come together soon, afterall ,the project design goal was a truly affordable high end ballbuster drag motor based on stock cylinders....Jim

Eric gorr..has a book he must know something  his port isn't for all out horsepower obviously, which is what 95% of planet sand is looking for..hell thats what 95% of us are looking for. the other 5% are the ones looking for a cheap alternative to paying 800 bucks for some port work, or are people who don't want a drag motor. MX guys etc. Those guys want a strong mid range hit to pull them outta the corners. We are talkin about two different animals here! lol

i have a big reed conversion motor that is basically stock except the reed conversion and it will run with or better than most small bore 4 mil strokers.passion re just gave it a fresh bore job.they are probally one of a kind cylinders and when my son [bkabina]and i get my motor and his x3 motor tuned in and run against each other at the drags if the x3 whoops my ass the big reed cyls.are going back to jim to be worked into a version of his x motor.we have a 370 rudy kurtz top end i am going to run against the x3 also.april 23 is test and tune with first real drag may 7 so we will know then how his x motor runs.

im pretty unimpressed with those big reed conversion engines. the one i saw was on a 4mm stroker. it had cr125 v force reeds in it. only made 1 more hp from regular v force. i wouldnt get your hopes up too high.

you never saw a big reed conversion like the one i have i bet.very few people have.mine was done by a guy who knew what he was doing and took pride in his work.the set i have were done by ed tomey and i bet if you seen them you would be amazed at the craftmanship.it runs well enough that the guys i race against swore i was running a stroker and doubted if it is really a small bore.as for horsepower what would you say to a big reed conversion ,stock crank, small bore making 90+ hp on gas and 100+ on alky?

if we were close enough to meet up in a drag race i guarentee you would be quite impressed.

i'm running yz125 boyesen power reeds.i've seen a few big reed conversions my self and aint seen none that even come close to comparing to the ones that i run.the ones i've seen the big reeds were grafted onto the shee cylinders ,mine were not grafted or welded to the back of the cylinder.my whole cylinder was transformed.when the races get under way i'll try to get some video of a run or two.after i race the x3 a time or two my motor is off to get some minor touch up and i'm going to try to have it dynoed .after the touch up it should be 90+hp on race gas and 100+on alky.i get it dynoed i'll post it no matter what the hp.who done the reed conversions you have seen?
