. Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 for being in NJ, its a little steep. Something had to have happen to that engine for the crank and stuff to be done with only "20" hours on it. For whats done to it, I wouldnt pay more than 3 grand at most. Quote
SpeedJunky82 Posted March 7, 2005 Author Report Posted March 7, 2005 Hmm, maybe the guys means under 20 hours on the new rebuilt....quick question tho...when u said for being in NJ thats a little steep...I don't understand, whats NJ have to do with anything? Quote
simonsays Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 do u know the pervious owner? if u do u have to ask and know how he treated the bike...... take it on test runs see how it feels handels... if u dont know much about bikes get a friend who knowns banshees to check the engine out for leaks problems... its a 01 model u say the most from what u told us i would pay 3000 at the most Quote
SpeedJunky82 Posted March 7, 2005 Author Report Posted March 7, 2005 Nah, I don't know the owner, I found it on ebay...but the seller claims it has been and I quote him "adult owned, ridden and professionally maintained"...I thank you guys for such quick replies. Quote
banshee76179 Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 1. Do a compression test(even if it is rebuilt) compression needs to be at least 120 per cylinder... 2. Check the frame for bends and fesh welds 3. Price is determined on what part of the area it is in..like the same bike might sale for 500 to 1000 more in one area.... 4. Welcome to the site and others will prolly chime in cause im having a brain fart on other things to look for... Later Quote
rocketboy Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 ,ported fuel injectors damn i gotta get me those ! do a search on "things to look for " welcome to HQ, the price is high and as stated earlier, it should nt have had the interanals changed if its got 20hrs on it ,something smells "fishy" Quote
SpeedJunky82 Posted March 7, 2005 Author Report Posted March 7, 2005 yeah I understand wa u guys are sayin about the whole 20 hours and being rebuilt already...that is a little strange....but it could possibly mean its got 20 hours on the rebuild, I dunno....I know I don;t really want something modified too much, because it would be my 1st banshee, but we'll see. . Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 modification is good (except portwork, you want to do that to your style), if its pipes that you dont desire, you can at least sell them instead of stock. Anything that isnt stock is worth money. Just to give you an example. I got a really good deal on this, but I got a 2001, guy hit a stump and put a hole in the bottom case and clutch cover of the engine. It had pipes, aftermarket air filter setup, durablue axle, rims, tires, front bumber, things powdercoated, and overall a decent bike. I paid 1300 for it, through my spare engine that has a cool head, freshly rebuilt, and needed a clutch for 1000. I now have 2300 into it including having a spare engine basically which I can part out for at least 600. like I said, I got a good deal, but this was in NJ and and it should kind of put you in the ball park. I see quads go for cheaper around here than the 3000 at most he should get for that quad. This quad out in California might go for another 500-1000. Quote

frocashmoney24 Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 i would be askin him about the fuel injectors, that would be on the top of my list. see if all the bearings and bushings and ball joints are tight. compresson like they said. Just look to see if its a clean looking bike. Quote
locogato11283 Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 too much for an engine thats been al rebuilt. you can prolly find one for less than that on all stock stuff thats been barely ridden. Quote
