hamuel Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 wow they make those? yah might or might not Me I would just go get 2 dollor thread rod 2 bolts, 2 washers(one big) one the size of the wrist pin(a little smaller) and some 3/4 pvc cut about 2 inch's long. works like a charm. cost yah like maybe 4 bucks tops!. if yah get how that tool works. it's the same basic thing just cheaper. the only time yah need is if the wrist pin just doesn't want to come out. DO NOT hammer one out or you'll bend a rod Quote
racer Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 i ususally just push my wrist pins out with my fingers. unless they are superstuck, then i use a little oil. they dont exactly freely come out, but i dont need a tool to do it. the circlips on the other hand.......... Quote
SuperChris Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 3/8 by 4 inch extension and my 10MM socket work great to puch the pin right out. If it's stuck, there is something wrong. Quote
sredish Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 I haven't had any problems getting the wrist pins out either. I used needle nose to get the clips out and then pushed the wrist pin out with my fingers. LIke butta!!! Quote

Yamaholic in va. Posted March 6, 2005 Report Posted March 6, 2005 Ive noticed on stock pistons the pins are hard to get out, but aftermarkets slide right out. Quote
rocketboy Posted March 6, 2005 Report Posted March 6, 2005 dont waste your money on these gimmik devices.first if you do regular rebuilds this will not be any problem you encounter , there is supposed to be ..025 of play on your rod .if i can t just push it after clips are removed i take an old used wrist pin(worn ) and push it against the one to be removed it works killer if worse comes to worse dont crack it with a hammer this will put uneeded stress on your rod bearings ,instead id hold the piston firmly in other hand and gently tap on that worn wrist pin against the one currently in the piston it should come out easily. as long as you do rebuilds like you should ,your not going to have much problem with this.
