Bansheeman1121 Posted February 26, 2005 Report Posted February 26, 2005 Ok i was just thinking and i came up with somethings that seems to make sense.Just need a few questions 1 is the cr 250r motor comparable to the motor that was used in the trx 250r? I no the gearing is probably way off coming from a bike tho. The cr powerplants gotta be at home in a 250x frame wouldnt you think?? 250x frame, cr 250r motor good or bad idea Quote
wantinashee Posted February 26, 2005 Report Posted February 26, 2005 the 250x is alot shorter, and might take alittle more work to put the cr engine in. the 250r and older cr engines are similar but the cr doesnt have a counter balencer which would make it vibrate more Quote
rjvoight Posted February 26, 2005 Report Posted February 26, 2005 I read in Dirtwheels a while back 'bout a company that was putting the CR250R motor in 400EX frames. DW is suppossed to be doing a test on the bike in the near futre. As to putting a motor in the 250X frame, if you got the motor and you got a 250X sitting around I say go for it and let us know how it goes RJV Quote
sp1tekiller Posted February 26, 2005 Report Posted February 26, 2005 That company is www.servicehonda.com They also make sick Aluminum framed CR500 bikes. Quote
blk02banshee Posted February 27, 2005 Report Posted February 27, 2005 That company is www.servicehonda.com 330080[/snapback] Yep, I've seen one of the prototypes in action. Very light and fast, although a little on the pricey side. Quote
FIRST BANSHEE Posted February 27, 2005 Report Posted February 27, 2005 the motor should fit no problem... the 250x motor is way bigger than the cr motor. the rear might bolt right up, and you might have to fab the front mounts. let us know how it fit. Quote
