Hubie000 Posted February 16, 2005 Report Posted February 16, 2005 Hey fellas, just wondering if it will make a "noticable" difference if I put new Boyesen Power Reeds on the stock rad cages? The motor is all stock, but the bike is piped & jetted. Thanks Quote
stclark816 Posted February 16, 2005 Report Posted February 16, 2005 I think if ur gonna spend money on reeds, you should go with the V-Forces. There isnt gonna be a significant power increase with only reed pedals. You will prolly just a have a little better throttle response. Quote
Hubie000 Posted February 16, 2005 Author Report Posted February 16, 2005 will adding the V-Force make a difference if the engine is still stock? Quote
kenr74 Posted February 16, 2005 Report Posted February 16, 2005 I did what you are talking about and noticed a difference. My stockers were pretty old though so I can't really say they are much better than stock. Quote
i12gofast Posted February 16, 2005 Report Posted February 16, 2005 I noticed a difference with the throttle response, but i added them along with a crapload of other goodies, so i cant contribute my powergains to the reeds themselves. Quote
NYCBanshee7 Posted February 17, 2005 Report Posted February 17, 2005 V-Force 2's w/ no airbox lid! YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHH Quote
. Posted February 17, 2005 Report Posted February 17, 2005 if your looking to just spend a couple bucks, they are a million times better than the stock ones. I'd go with the all epoxy dual stage reed set. The throttle response is great, and your quad will do what you want it to do, when you want it to do it. Quote
Hubie000 Posted February 17, 2005 Author Report Posted February 17, 2005 thanks for the input guys. Quote
ledofthezep Posted February 17, 2005 Report Posted February 17, 2005 I'm getting ready to install some with some reed spacers I'm gunna be ordering tomorrow. I know a guy who runs those reeds, stock reed blocks pulled out, with spacers & his shee runs nice & smooth, very nice ride...got rid of his lightswitch powerband. Vforce would be nice & would be my prefered choice, but in my financial fuck right now, I can settle for something else. Anything's better than stock, right. Quote
locogato11283 Posted February 17, 2005 Report Posted February 17, 2005 v force if you can swing it. especially if youll be doing some major mods later. try to plan ahead. Quote
squish Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 I have the carbon tech reeds and they made a big difference. Quote
BigRed350x Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 if your looking to just spend a couple bucks, they are a million times better than the stock ones. Go from 1/4 throttle to wide open with instant response. If you are just tooling around real slow and want to go to like half throttle it is awesome. Quote
. Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 oh yeah....some people dont do it (dont know why), but when you put the dual stage boyesons on, ditch the stock reed stops.....they are worthless.... Quote
