watkins Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 Ok.. now that I have a new stock bike the first thing I want to do is replace the air filter before taking it on its first trip....now...... I hear eveyone talking about the Pro-Filter Adapter with K&N Filter.... does this mod require jetting? Also... how does the kit work and what specific air filter do i need to get in conjunction? Any help would be great since this is my first ATV. Thanks! Quote
Otis Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 yes you will have to rejet. Rocky Mountain ATV sells the adapotor plate, filter, and outer wears as a set. Pretty good price too. If you do search for air filter or pro flow adaptor, on here, you'll find an "S" load of info on the kit, and were to start with the jetting. Quote
watkins Posted February 9, 2005 Author Report Posted February 9, 2005 http://www.rockymountainatv.com/Machine_De...ar=2002&status= is this what you are talking about? Does that mean no more airbox? Quote
Otis Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 Thats not the adaptor(the one for the banshee is a big oval), but yeah thats the set up. Check out noss machine, i think he has an adaptor plate set up too...anyway, no you dont have to remove the air box. you drill 2 holes in the front of the box, and attach the adaptor plate to the airbox with those screws. brianrides Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 i went with the twln air kit i dident rejet and i never had a problem with the way it runs it was a little pricy i thought for what you get but the stock filter cage was such a pice of shit i had to replace it and the dealer recomened this one so i went with it Quote
. Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 If you ride in dirt or mud or water or anything besides sand, I'd get the foam setup. It's at most a 1/2 hp difference and offers much better protection. Quote

DUNEDEMON Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 No matter which filter design you go with, make sure you run a bead of silicone around the inside of the aluminum filter adapter before you bolt it to the air box. Quote
watkins Posted February 9, 2005 Author Report Posted February 9, 2005 Could someone point me to the exact product to purchase? I'd like to get this stuff ordered today, but dont want to get the wrong thing. Quote

DUNEDEMON Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 K&N will be fine ( I run one ) get the outerware and you'll be set. Quote
