rideblue_05 Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 I have a 2000 banshee with t5's, pro-design cool-head, delta force 2's, and k&n clamp on's. I dont have a bunch of money to spend but I want the most power I can get for a good price. I dont want nitrous. I have heard that putting my bike on methanol is a good cheap way. What do u guys recommend? And if I get a good bit more power outta my engine will I need to weld my crank? Quote
01bansheefox Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 How much $$$ u have to spend? Quote
bkabina Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 Vito's super stock pistons are cheap power. But for the price you could find someone to port the cylinders and probably make more power.Or you could get a pair of 28mm pwk carbs, you will notice a differance there as well.Bump up the timing around 4*.What size domes you have and what is your elevation?Could possibly get some higher compression domes. As for the crank being trued and welded I'd do it any way it's cheap insurance, plus it's done already for future mods. You will want the crank welded if you go with alot of compression. Just a few things to think about. Quote
NYCBanshee7 Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 Boost your compression, because if you are willing to run methanol, you seem like you would spend the money on some race gas. Advance your timing +4 Bigger carbs Porting???? Depends how much you are willing to spend. Quote

rideblue_05 Posted January 24, 2005 Author Report Posted January 24, 2005 I am at sea level and I have stock size domes in my head. I was thinking about porting it but didnt know if I had the money. How much should I pay for a good port job. What do I need to advance the timing and will I have to run race gas if I do. Quote

Porting would probably be your next big thing. I heard Eric Gorr does a good job. About $200 I believe. Quote
rideblue_05 Posted January 24, 2005 Author Report Posted January 24, 2005 What about advancing the timing? I figure I will need to get an adjustable timing plate, how much do they cost? What about race gas with advanced timing? Quote
01bansheefox Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 Timing plate is like $35 ebay.com Quote
banshee tuner Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 Vito's degree key $25. A port can cost anywhere from 200 to 400. Go with passion racing to get your moneys worth and someone that will work with you. Stay away from trinity if you want customer service. Quote

Many of the problems people had with the "old Trinity" are fixed, and we're constantly working on fixing more. Quote
banshee tuner Posted January 27, 2005 Report Posted January 27, 2005 That's good to hear cause I have bought parts from there but have steered clear of sending anything to get work performed cause everyone complained about customer service and turnaround time. Quote
