Minkia38 Posted January 13, 2005 Report Posted January 13, 2005 it takes alot to stretch the stock spring, but thats what mine are! invest in a $4 spring puller - makes it alot easier! longer springs: www.rockymountainatv.com FMF makes a kit with o-rings and 2 springs for $8 or so www.rocketpipes.com Quote
Banchetta Posted January 14, 2005 Report Posted January 14, 2005 Take a screwdriver and put a slot at an angle in the screwdriver. Walla, instant spring puller...use a larger flat screwdriver. I'd post my oppinions on Minkia shee w/ Rocket pipes, but he has a stroker and jetting wasn't fined tuned so it wouldn't be accurate enough especially on stock porting and stroke.. Quote
PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted January 15, 2005 Report Posted January 15, 2005 When I put springs on I just bend a piece of wire in half (maybe 18" long) and wrap the open end around the middle of a wrench a couple times till (enough so it will hold when you pull on it) making a T-handle puller. The nice thing about this is once the spring is on you can unwrap the wire and just pull it through the spring. Quote
SICK BOY Posted January 16, 2005 Report Posted January 16, 2005 I just bought a $4.00 exhust spring puller from Rockey Mountain. Quote
locogato11283 Posted January 16, 2005 Report Posted January 16, 2005 check the general disc forum to see if they are all hype!! Quote
hemimike Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 (edited) I used a shoe lace to pull and guide the spring into place it worked really well. Edited January 18, 2005 by hemimike Quote
