No spark, headlights lighting up

hey guys i really need some help with what im guessing is an ignition problem. my quad will not start. i checked the plugs, and there getting wet, but there is no spark. i grounded it on the head and checked, and held the plug to see if i could even feel anything. nothing. however, when i turn the light switch on, and kick it, the lights light up. so it cant be the magneto...anyone have any ideas?

Coil or CDI... maybe a loose wire too though

I had that same problem and found out my cdi box was dead. You can check it before you decied to buy a new one but i forgot where you can get the chart that tells you the ohms your suppost to have.

i am really thinking a loose wire, because it ran fine 10 minutes before i took off a carb...what wires could be in that area or would affect something like that?

Do you still have the TORS on the quad?

disconnect the little black box above the left exhaust (3-wire plug), then disconnect the parking brake switch at the connection, you have to follow the wire down around the gas tank..

The stator has two seperate circuits. One for ignition and one for lights. Could be a stator.

What I was gonna say, I'd test the stator first, then make sure the TORS is disabled as Banchetta suggested, then check over the entire wiring harness, especially the two wires going to the coil. Good luck.

I've also had one of the wires fall off the coil like BenBB said. It's under the right pipe.

ight, i got it. i disconnected the three prong plug for the TORS, and she fired right up. so do i just get another one of those box's? or can i just run it without tors?

I'd just leave the damn thing off, and remove the switch on the e-brake perch and at the throttle housing. You can get a TORS elimination kit to get rid of the huge boxes on top of each carb, but disconnecting that control box effectively disables the system.
