chris642 Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 are twists bad or what? i was thinking about getting one but for doing freestyle it would be gay like bust a superman and rev the hell out of the enginve 299236 they do supermans on dirtbikes fine with a twist so i wouldnt se it as a problem. but personally, i dont like twist becasue when i hit the brakes sometimes on my friends bike i twist the gas a little, not to mention when you fall and are trying to hold on and you just pin it Quote
Wassup350 Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 Thats pretty pimpin. I like the ol thumb throttle fine though. These are pretty nice A little pricey though but nice. Terry cable makes nice ones too Quote
Screamin_Demon Posted December 30, 2004 Report Posted December 30, 2004 Stick with the thumb, since that's what you're used to. 299276 I didn't know banshee's came with a thumb-in-ass option for the throttle. Twisting is for masterbation... not quads. Quote
sp1tekiller Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 A twsit throttle is not meant for an ATV. JUst like a thumb throttle isnt meant for a bike. Quote
Brian060 Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 I got a cool story for you guys. Im test riding my bike at the track right... goin fine(slow as hell to), then i say to myself "fuck it, If im buyin this shit im gonna wind it out," so i made the mistake of rippin it on the bottom or a table and .... well, i ended up looping the damn thing in mid-air. And this was before i bought the bike. Yeah... it was akward when the guy asked if i was still intrested while were standing around a pretty busted up bike. My second ride- I was ridin around Giants stadium with my uncle in nj. The trails we were on were loooong and straight as a needle so we were really able to wind it out. As were riding paralell to the NJ turnpike (passing cars might i ad) we hit a NASTY whoops section and i gunned the bike. Damn near got myself run over that day.......... Anyways... Anyone wanna buy a bike? Quote
bansheeigo Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 I don't like twist throttles but that looks cool Quote
grounded Posted January 8, 2005 Author Report Posted January 8, 2005 Just ordered mine , should be here next week, I can't wait to add it to my red anodized asv levers and clamps. Quote
iceman Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 I don't understand why they feel natural on bikes and not on quads. I couldnt imagine using a thumb throttle with my 250, and I've ridden a twist on a four wheeler and its retarded. I don't get it. Quote
boonman Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 The problem with a twist on a wheeler is the fact that it requires ALOT more force on the bars to turn the bike, and physically more movement to do so as well. on a bike, there is minimal movement on the bars to turn, and you can move around on a bike alot more and still be in control of the throttle. I have tried the twist. I got rid of it for fear of death. You just simply muscle the bike alot more with an atv vs. a bike. Quote
grounded Posted January 9, 2005 Author Report Posted January 9, 2005 baaaah!! I ride mostly mx on an rm 250 and swapping from that to the banshee is seamless as far as the twist throttle is concerned. When I get on to my warrior which still has a thumb , that bothers me after a few hours of riding. Quote
