Christmas bonus?

Did any of you get a Christmas Bonus this year? I work for a multi billion dollar company (Weyerhaeuser) and they gave us a $50 gift certificate to the local mall and a carhartt jacket. This was not a Xmas bonus but was a reward for passing 1 million man hours with no lost time accidents. Am I wrong for being so pissed that they are so cheap. I know that our mill manager gets $120K a year plus a $70K bonus. We dont get shit. I wanted to mail they're gifts back to them since I felt it was a slap in the face. What did you all get from work for a bonus or gift?

The hard part about that, is not knowing how many people got bonuses from your company, and for how much.... that could add up to the 10's of millions of dollars for that company, but I know what you're saying.

My shop bought me a new set of tires, which is fine with me. We did'nt have that good of a year anyway. :shrugani:

We actually had a good year, I work for an electric utility that merged with another one and is now merging with a third. Our bonuses usually come in between 4.5% and 6%, so this year should be on the high end of that scale. It's technically a yearly bonus so we just use it to pay off the credit cards we ran up during Xmas.

My wifes company gives $100 plus another $50 for each year, which isn't much but it sure does help this time of year.

Good luck to everybody when it comes to bonus time, I know how much it hurts to not get them when you get used to them being there.

My wife got layed off for her Christmas bonus along with 150 other workers for SBC (phone company) in Northern CA so they could outsourse the jobs to Texas.

I work for the state so we don't even get a company sponsered christmas party cause it would be on your tax dollars.

Sounds like I am pretty lucky, my brother lost his job for Christmas too with about 10 other people. He still got his bonus. We got a $200 plus a 20 gift card to a grocery store. It is not a very big company. Hope you guys have a Great Christmas and New Year though. B)

No bonus here either, I work for a multi billion dollar company also. We had our best year ever, and on top of that the last 3 months is even better, the best quarter of all time.

Management got sweet bonuses but the working man, zilch. I guess I still have a job though, it would really suck to get laid off this time off year.

My condolences to the people who did lose their jobs, I hope you find something better.

Merry Christmas everyone.............

LOL! Bonus! hehe yea right...

I work for a large corporation that grossed almost 700 million this year. (between 130 locations) The branch Im at does on average of 40-60,000.00 a DAY in sales. In my department (paint) we average 60-70,000.00 a month in sales. And thats between myself and one other guy. A few years ago we were doing less than that w/ 3 people (including myself)

I received a 20.00 ham... WHoopDeeDoo!

3 years ago we had a huge fire and lost 90% of our inventory including all the office PC's. I spent close to 3 weeks rebuilding our network 3 times. I had to get a temporary one set up the day after the fire (saturday) I then spent the remainder of my weekend salvaging information off the server. Did I mention that I am their paint rep and NOT in their IT dept? I am also salary so any over time I work is on my dime/time. Week 2 of this ordeal the VP comes in to assess the situation and made his way over to thank me for all my work (hand shake) After I'm all done I hand my boss a bill for $12,000.00 to give to the insurance company since they would have had to hire someone to do all that work (normally $125.00 an hour on site out here) You figure out what 60 hours a week x 3 weeks x 125.00 an hour is... hehe Well needless to say I received a $50.00 gift certificate (as with everyone else in the company did)

I say big business can lick my ass!

Sorry to go off in a rant, but it feels good sometimes!

I got my Christmas Bonus just like I have since I started working at this smaller Architectural office. The bonus amount depends on how much you make and how much ass you have kissed throughout the year. Since I got the same amount as last year I must not be kissing enough ass... at least it was enough to buy myself a few nice things.

I'm sure Dave's a lot like me... self employed. Sure, we can rake in the big bucks, but if shit hits the fan, there ain't no one to watch over us. And christmas bonus..... what's that? My christmas bonus is not getting work done over the holidays.

Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas and wouldn't trade the holidays for anything.

Merry Christmas. 110103_sc_prv1.gif
