  2. I cant remember if the 96 or 97 was the cut off for the vortec motor. If its a vortec, then it has a plastic upper plennum (intake manifold) It is very common for the fuel pressure regulator starts leaking. (found under the intake) Or the fuel pump. I had the same problem as you described with my 99 tahoe and it was the fuel filter. Not long after my fuel pump died. The first thing I would recommend you to do would be to check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail/intake. Have you ever checked your intake gasket? How many miles on the truck? It is VERY common on the vortec's to suck the intake gasket at the back. One other thing to check would be the catalytic converter. If its clogged then it could cause the same symptoms as you stated above. When was the last time it was tuned up? (cap, rotor, wires, plugs) check out www.fullsizechevy.com Lots of good info there
  3. Maybe the planets are aligned....... but I completely agree with Denny on this. I too have an LSR and have yet to have a problem with it. But hands down the best axle I've seen, is the RPM Dominator. Remember you get what you pay for. I've seen almost every axle busted or bent, and the RPM has to have the best reputation. They all with give under extreme abuse.
  4. Happy B-day dude!!! As for buying a new R....... cant hate ya for that! We all come to realize that the banshee isnt always the best machine for some terrain. And with these new fangled 4 strokes....... they sure are a blast to ride! Take care and keep the rubber side down
  5. Matt: I've been running an LSR hub on mine for several years now. I have yet to have a problem with it. LSR's have a steel insert for the splines.
  6. I wasnt about to give out this info but for those of you that may get to this before me. 250R frames use square tube..... 400ex uses round tube. Now what would be easier to fab up to a banshee frame? Someone has already been doing these mods so I cant see it being all that hard. I know I'd be taking mad pics during the process. If I wasnt in the middle of a move across country I'd be lookin for an EX frame now. I'm sure I'll be able to find a beater out west, now I just need the time and $,,,,, and time.
  7. Ahhhhhhhhhh the Network 54 days. Brings a tear to my eye. Chozen1; let me know if I can be of anymore help with your move. RZ: I gotta give ya something towards them, I dont care about the time... Hell I've been soo busy too. Its all good. Check ur PM and I'll send you my new addy. THANK YOU! pjw! How the hell you been dude? Long time no talk Jare77: I've talked with Crash a few times over the last year or so, I will see if I can find his email addy when I get back to vegas. He was supposed to come out to Dumont last T-day but was unable to with his motor down. Last I knew he was building another badass motor. We should try and resurrect some of our long lost members. Anyone know how to get ahold of Jethro? Hows school BG? Almost ready to start working? /me heart brooke
  8. My first question is Are those cyls set up for a 7 mil rank? Are you running a spacerplate? Whats your compression at?
  9. Thanks tithead! Feels good to be back.... I just hope the next few months go fast and w.o a hitch so i can get back here on a schedule Scott; no better school than the school of hard knocks! Everything else is over rated chozen1: As stan said they can bite you in the ass.... I think they have their place if you plan to refi, or relocate again before the loan matures. Let me know if your interested and I will get you his contact info. After talking with him there are a LOT of jackass' in the vegas market that will try to juice ya, so you have to be carefull who you deal with out there. Let me know when you get settled in and we will hit Dumont! RZ: nice to see you around too! What have you been up too? You still hanging out over at Planetsand? Let me know what I owe you for the griles..and I'll send you my new address so I can get them out west. Thank you again!
  10. Stan: Thats the difference with riding with prople that know the area better than the back of their hand. They make it look like its a walk in the park. I cant remember the last time I've been able to ride WFO 5th and 6th gear flat out..... God I'm gettin a woodie thinkin about it! Even tho the major part of my move may be in the middle of June... I'm gonna do my best to make the St.A's trip. Even if I have to drive up for the weekend. (Yes I will drive 900 miles to ride the weekend! Your more than welcome to join us Stan!
  11. Hey Chozen1! We will have to get together sometime..... I'm gonna be burried in shit (work and buying/selling a house) for the next few months. But we will have time next season to dune! I just started visiting BHQ again recently, and hope to spend a little more time here. That will depend on my schedule tho. I have a crew of riding buddys here... Plus there is www.dumontduneriders.com with another bunch of good people. I've ridden with them boys too.... Good god do they like to party at night! Whats makin ya move to Vegas? If you cover 13 states then what the hell do you do for a living?? Good god thats one hell of a territory! Do you already have a place or are you still looking for a house? I have a friend that does mortgages so let me know and I will hook you up. He is TOP KNOTCH and is DAM good people. The housing market has slowed down out here and currently there are 1800 house on the market. Thats unheard of for Vegas. Its a buyers market for once. Keep in touch and we will have to get together sometime. Brooke: When am I picking you up at the airport? As for having 10 wives!!! The ONE I have now drives me insane... I cant imagine having 9 more! All one needs is a good mistress on the side...
  12. Mike: I've wanted a TRUE LT on my shee for a LONG ass time.... I just cant see spending the $ on whats available when its almost no better than standard travel. Trust me I will have one if I can just get some time and $ to play with it. I may have to find a spare frame to mess with. If I do... You know I will put all the details on my site. Brooke: I have a prize for ya! Payoff is at the end btw honey... site is back up! www.roostfest.net Duece: Thanks for the welcomed return.. Only place ive had the pleasure to ride so far is Dumont.... Once i get settled out there I'll be lookin for more places to ride. Rocks are no worse than back east... Hell riding down Denny's way you need 1/4" plate steel skid plates.
  13. I have a set of mohawks that are basicly brand new. After riding several other bikes with different tires I want to make the switch. Just the weight savings is good, but I want something with better performance. When I get a chance to look into tire prices I may sell my Mohawks... If interested let me know and maybe we could make a deal. As for the diff....... everyone here is spot on... Smoothies I think are best for straight line drags. If your into hard core duning then I dont think they would be your best bet. You wont have the control for tighter turning because the smoothies will just wash out from under you, and "push" in the corners. fasterthanU: Check your steering stop, If your bars are turning too much then thats why the steering locks on you. Mine used to do the same too.
  14. While its NOT glamis... I will give my opinion. (for what ever thats worth) I'm moving to Vegas myself and have been to dumont 5 times in the last 2 months. I've been to both Mother G and Dumont. Yes Dumont is smaller, but it makes up for the size in hills, bowls, and just kick ass riding. Since its smaller there are less people there (off weekend) Any big weekend will be chaos in either place. What John was trying to explain above is its mainly Razors in Dumont where Mother G has a lot of rolling hills. I've had many people in the past tell me that Dumont is very dangerous and not for amatures. While I may agree with that I look at it as predictable. If you acknowledge that almost every hill you climb is a razor then you dont have to worry. Approach all hills as a razor and with caution. But once you get to know the area,,, Its hard to beat. I'm not saying its better or worse than Mother G, but being that its 100 miles from Vegas... How can you go wrong? If your into the party scene, and actually enjoy hanging out with the crazies... then Mother G is for you. Here are some pics from RF04 http://www.roostfest.net/images/ride%20trips/roostfest04/
  15. Sorry I havent had a chance to reply to this post sooner. Right now I'm sitting in the airport so I thought I'd give it a chance. Denny; While I agree that we disagree, it doesnt change the fact that you have made comments then came back to remove them. Your comments and attitude is what pissed me off. You cant take back whats already been said. I accept your appology and I too am sorry for the way things went down. I'm not here to start pissing matches. Its the whole reason I left in the first place. It was not all your doing either because at the time everyone was shit slinging. I have better things to do than argue with people over stupid shit. Our arguement started over the LT topic but then became passionately fighting over our beliefs. You derrogatory comments towards me and my friends is what pushed me over the edge (the ones that were made and then removed to attempt to look innocent. (you know the ones) We all come here to get away from the daily BS, not involve ourselves into more headaches. Lets get back on subject and agree to disagree. The only reason I attacked you is because you threw the first punch. We've all said stuff we cant take back, For that too I'm sorry. Maybe it will make us rethink what we say before we type it. Im dont throwing cheap shots and slinging shit, because in the end,,,,, everyone is standing around covered in shit. Enough of that..... Jim and Mike: Thank you very much for the comments. Anyone that has met me or delt with me knows that I will give someone my last dollar to help them out. I never expect anything in return because I believe in Karma. And yes Jim,,, I sure am enjoying LasVegas. More T&A than you could shake a stick at. Beautiful weather, and kick ass dunes 100 miles away. Doesnt get any better than that now does it? Thanks again! As for running a true LT on a banshee w/o a frame swap... There is a way but its more involved than most people will care to get involved in. Just think of grafting the front frame section of a 400ex to the front of the banshee. We all know 400ex parts are becoming super cheap....... It will be my next mod when I can get the time. Long live the banshee! My site will be back up soon and that may be one of the next projects I'll do. /me takes the olive branch and slaps Brooke on the ass
  16. Gimmeabear: I've watched Mike from Axis and the boys from K&K rebuild shocks and tho its not all that difficult, it is time consuming to do it right. When I mean not difficult... That is meant towards someone that has a dam good mechanical skills and patience! Dont try this if you have a hard time holding onto the smarth end of a screwdriver. It can also be a little tedious. Somethings will be confusing until you do the first few. I'm sure I could do some but would rather leave it to the pros. (I also dont have the time) Now thats for just a service... revalving takes a lot more. Dunedemon: Mike is one of the best tour guides at Mother G. He was up at Dumont this weekend to help with the clean-up. I've been riding with him several times... always a great time. Fast is an understatement!! Great article by the way too. Hopefully we can keep THIS thread on track
  17. Excellent post Matt... and sorry for the childish bullshit posted above, but I guess one should expect that when dealing with .............. nevermind I'm walking away from this post before it turns back into the same shit as last time. No reason to repost whats already been beat to death.
  18. See there ya go..... Why are you worried about me if your not trying to start shit? If I have been gone you wouldnt have to worry about me now would you, but since you knew I have been around you start your gay shit again. Good god your so predictable. Cry to the world that your mistreated, yet YOUR the only reason why your treated as you are. Just own up to starting shit and it can end. Get a life
  19. Why is it almost everyone of your posts gets edited? Your the FUCKING pussy. Im sorry I dont suck cock, Thats your job you fuckin pillow biter. I left this forum because I was sick of your fuckin crybaby two-faced bullshit. Every time you make a post you go back to edit it to make it look like someone else is the bad guy for pissing on your forehead when your the asswipe that started the shit slinging. If you cant handle the truth then jump off a fuckin bridge. I didnt come back here to put up with your childish games. I was asked by someone to give MY FUCKIN INPUT. If you dont like wtf I have to say... BIG god dam deal. Im not here to satisfy you dickweed. I never once said I was a banshee god, so lick the sweaty spot under my nuts you pissant. If you dont want anything to do with me then WHY in christ are you posting here? I've been told by several people that you have tossed me under the bus here and that you go back to edit the post to look like a fuckin angel later. You and your coy bullshit is gay. Grow some hair on those balls or have they not dropped yet. If anyone has an ego its you since you cant take anyones fuckin criticism. Its not my fault you cant understand common knowledge. Do yourself and many others a favor and slit your wrists. Have a great day!
  20. Hehe close Jim.... but not entirely true. That scotts just takes away the initial hit. Sure its a kick ass product that is light years beyond the competiton. I will give it that. The only thing that will take it away is a new front frame section and suspension Matt: please do a search for LT discussions. That is a topic I wont even approach here. Once you read the previous posts you will understand why. On a side note... where have you ever seen an MX track that only has doubles and no corners?? LT setups on a banshee.......... ugh.... do a search and tell me what you think
  21. Dunedemon: Hopefully we can keep this an informative thread! I cant say that I'm settled out here tho... Wife is still back east until the boys are out of school. I've been here since the end of january. (been to the dunes 4-5 times already too!) hehe I'm not looking forward to the weather when I return home this weekend. BLECK! Besides that it kicks ass out here. I love my job even though this market is a pure mess. Ok back on subject Please justin dont take this wrong. Some people (SOME) like the extra added bells & whistles but yet never use them while others over tweak to the point of excessiveness. Most people screw with shit and make things worse because they dont understand what they are really doing. (no I dont mean you.. just a general description) When I first received my TCS the rear was not adjusted correctly (out of the box) I fiddled with it but could never get it right. I've never had it serviced (i know i know) I had one of my guys from K&K dial it in for me and I have yet to mess with it. The fronts were similar and after having them rebuilt I have not needed to make any adjustments. It rides very soft and takes what I throw at it every time. Ask anyone that has ridden my shee and they can attest to it. Even tho AXIS/Penske shocks arent built in cali anymore doesnt mean they are no good. Yes their service isnt what it used to be.... How could it when its now done in house? Todd (TCS) is good people and still CARES about what he does. (dont get me started on ELKA or PEP) As for your issues with TCS... I would think it was/is a lack of communication between you and todd(who ever on the phone) sometimes how we desribe something means something totally different to someone else. Nitrogen leaks are just bad bladders. Its not all that hard or expensive to change. Most of the time a "shock service" consists of more than just fresh oil and a nitrogen charge. If you describe problems or issues with your shocks then I could see a "service" costing you more $ since they are "expecting" to do more work on your shocks (valving/springs/ect) then a normal service. To mirror what dunedemon said above....... SUSPENSION SUSPENSION SUSPENSION!!! You can ride so much faster and safer with BETTER suspension. But remember you get what you pay for. Sure WORKS is a huge step up from stock, but the next step wont be cheap, but will be WORTH every penny. We all spend tons of money on bling bling, but whats that get you? (besides looks) Yes guys I still lurk from time to time.... and still alive! The move is keeping me super busy so I'm not around as much as I'd like. Lets hit the dunes next season! I may get to the dunes one more time this year (coral pink) or if I can pull things off I may hit Idaho in June for roostfest06-St.Anthonys. Otherwise it will be next season! Lets ride!
  22. Yes, I'm alive! And enjoying sunny LV/dunes for a change.... Scott: You are 100% spot on. There is no way you can set up a banshee w/o some bumpsteer. (notice I said SOME for those of you that have sand in your vaginal cavities) If we all rode on perfect flat ground we wouldnt have any fun now would we? To prove this all one needs to do is put their bike on a stand with the suspension hanging. Remove the shocks and cycle the suspension from full droop to full compression. Watch what happens while keeping the opposite side from moving. /me steps off his soap box btw; How ya been scott and gimmeabeer
  23. I wont touch this post with a 100' pole..... Why dont you ask Meat? I'm sure he can enlighten us......... /me beats a dead horse
  24. Thanks Mike! But my intentions are to only inform others what Ive learned, been taught and experienced. Maybe I'll PM you mike about Axis/elka/ohlins/pep..... I'd hate to get someones pantys in a bunch over facts. Matt: Give me a day to settle in... was a great weekend at Dumont again! Let me know when you will be around and I'll give you a call. If it wasnt for some crybaby cunts I'd post about it here, but I'm not about to deal with their bullshit again. loboboy: Your VERY correct... Ordering PEP's through wayne isnt as cut and dry as one would think. The only way to get pro quality shocks is to be a pro. I doubt anyone off the street will get that type of service, ESPECIALLY with Wayne's shitty attitude. btw; you missed a good weekend in the dunes Matt!
  25. Matt: Catch up with me next week after I get back from Dumont or maybe I'll give you a shout over the weekend. I can give you the FULL story on Axis (rumors, truth, fact) and I will explain a few more things to you. I'm not about to debate anything on here regarding suspension. Im sure you understand why. I'd hate to irritate the sand in someones vaginal cavity your # end with 8656? If I dont call you tonight I'll try over the weekend (while at the dunes) hehe Walt
