I finally got a new round carrier and I want a rust proof grease fitting for it. Does anyone know where I can get stainless grease fittings? Ideally I'd like to get straight, 3/16", press in fittings.

I have seen them rust, but it really is only surface rust. I can understand if you just want them to look better, but it really doesn't affect how they work. On our big equipment at work we don't even bother changing them until we shear them off.

Just keep a thin coat of grease on it... :D

actually, i think most auto stores carry them but they may not be stainless come to think of it. mine are all just the basic cheapies and have never rusted.

I think they use them in saltwater marine applications. I just hate plated steel. Besides I'm going to modify the carrier so I can grease it from the sprocket side where the adjuster holes are instead of the center.

How much were they? Do you mean Mercury cars or Mercury Outboards?
