Well, I ordered a set of ITP Sand Star tires for my son for Xmas, and they sent me Sand Geckos. The guy that took my order said they had the Sand Stars in stock, and I asked him to install chrome valve stems when they mounted them. No problem he says, he tells me what the total is and I hang up, order complete.

Tuesday of this week I get one tire and wheel, Wednesday I get the other one, both Sand Geckos, and no chrome stems either.

I call and they say they don't even have the Sand Stars in the size I ordered. So they tell me to send them back for a refund, only I have to pay to ship them both ways ($26 one way, and another $23 back = $49)! They say that the guy that took my order says he read the order back to me, so it must be my fault. I tell them we never even discussed Geckos, because that's not what I wanted.

This is the last strike, I won't spend another dime at Chaparral.

Just thought I would warn those of you that might be thinking of buying something from them.

Sorry to hear about your problems. You should have gotten them from Jim's Sand Toys.

Last trip over in October I stopped in and Jim didn't have any, and when I ordered them two weeks ago Rocky Mountain didn't have any either. Yesterday I called Rocky Mountain again and they had them, so I have a set on the way.

I've never even heard of them. I am in Wyoming, so I get stuff from RockyMountainATV like the day after or 2nd day I order it. Never had any problems with them at all. I order all my stuff from them and Vito's and I am very happy with both.

I also had problems with them, you know the ads that we all lok at in "dirt-wheels" magazine, or wahtever, well they had an advertised price of $xxx.xx I don't remember how much, so I called to order them, being the cheapest tires I found, the guy taking my order told me that since it was saturday, eithe I have to pay full pop, regular price, or call back during the week M-F so they could verify the price I was seeing i nthe magazine, they were just too busy on a Saturday to help me out...no problem, now I get all my stuff online from www.rockymountainatv.com, and I get it in three-four days, in San Diego....and it's usually cheaper than Chaparrals advertised prices...

I called VISA and they said that they can't do anything about shipping charges. So it was either keep the tires, or send them back for a refund minus shipping. I am pi$$ed about the whole thing, but they won't burn me again...........

Chaparral is a wonderful place to get tires if you go to their store in person. The people that work there arent really too bright. To be honest after going there a few times it makes you wonder how some of them made it past childhood. If you go to their store in person and you know exactly what you want then youre definately gonna get a better deal. Just make sure you know EXACTLY what you want because I wouldnt trust about 90% of the people that work there. Sorry you got screwed man, it really didnt come as a surprise to me. Those people are just weird everytime I come out of that store I always feel stupider than when I came in.

If I was you, I would switch credit card company's as well.... I see I'm not the only one that has got the run around from Chaparral... I order a set of maxxsis razr's from them... They never sent them, and when I called they told me they were on back order.... So I canceled my order and bought them from rockymountain atv...

The same thing happened to me several years ago, they sent the wrong size paddles on the haulers I ordered. Of course I had them on the ground before I realized it, and of course they refused to take them back. Luckely I was able to sell them to a friend, and ordered the right size from some one else, don't remember who right now, but it sure wasn't Chaparral. Now I get all of my stuff from Rocky Mt. ATV. :headbang:
