Redlined
Are you having a problem with the bolt backing out? If so I would Use loctite. http://www.spankysparts.com/red-loctite.html If the bolt is staying tight but the bracket is coming loose and moving down. That would mean that the axle is moving forward enough to allow the tensioner to fall down. One thing you can do to help reduce this problem is to grind a small notch in the a-arm were the tensioner bolt comes in contact. This will help keep it in place. Then you need to find out why the axle is moving forward.

mat
They won't move vertically if the carrier bolts are tight. Is this happening while your ride? If so, you need to tighted the bottom bolt tighter. If this is happening while you are in the middle of an adjustment, the don't loosen the bottom bolt as much. Leave everything compressed a little so that they adjusted won't fall down, but loose enough that you can still move the carrier.
fixitrod
Like mat said, they have to be tight. I also switch to nylon locking nuts.
