This monitor coming out of his head by the sound of it is an intracranial pressure monitor. It's inserted through a bolt placed through the bone itself. It monitors fluctuations in brain swelling and allows excess cererbral spinal fluid to be drained off as swelling increases. I've taken care of these types of pateints for many years and a serious matter no doubt. Just keep us posted, we'll keep them in our prayers and let me know what hospital they are at. I would assume he should of been medi-flighted to OKC to OU med center since they are a level 1 trauma center.

Man, that's terrible. They'll be in our prayers, and hopefully they're gonna be ok. Things like that happen so fast. I learned my lesson with the whole helmet issue, now I wear mine all the time, and I sure hope your friends get the chance to ride again and wear theirs. Keep us posted.

I almost wish everyone that hasn't had one would have a minor, no injury accident, where your know without a doubt your helmet saved your life like I and so many others have had because you won't ever ride without one again.

I will keep them in my thoughts.

Thanks for the info, I'll keep close tabs on them, I worked in that unit there for 3 years so my old co-workers will be taking good care of them. They are without a doubt getting the best care available.

Hope your friends pull through.

On a side note, I could use one of those thingamajiggers in my brain to let the excess pressure out every now and again. I really don't want to start drinking again.
