Sand, dirt, trail, snow ect. Quote

RNBRAD Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 I had the FMF fatties for several years, they were really a fantastic all around performing pipe. The only problems is the fit and finish wasn't up to par and they start looking crappy after a few years. I'm also not a big fan of the exhaust clamp concept. Other than that not a bad pipe for the money. I ended up dropping the dough for a set of Trinity's and have been thoroughly impressed. I would put their fit and finish up against any quad pipe on the market and actually rival some of the higher end bike pipes. Yes they are made that well and for 700 bones they should be. No rivets to drill out when packing needs replaced and you won't need any clamps, everything is double o-ringed including the expansion chamber exhaust flange. The only things I could find wrong with the system is some oil leaked from the connection of the muffler to the mid-pipe (this was easily rectified with some high temp silicone) and they are a little heavier. As they should be, stainless is so much stronger than mild steel it's not even funny. Performance wise I couldn't give you any specifics on just the pipe. I did too many mods at the time to report any individual gains. They will definitely support whatever mods you want to add. Quote
Ultimateduner Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 Since you enjoy the T 5s, I would recommend the T 6s. They will do great in any area of riding. Quote
FIRST BANSHEE Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 I have t-6s,there an awesome pipe and perform great with bolt ons. But they are designed for a ported engine. Just something to consider. Quote
Mod Banshee Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 I have a set of FMF Fatty Pipes and Power Core 2 Silencers I will sell you for $200. They are in very Good Shape. Quote
Mod Banshee Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 (edited) The Only reason I am selling them is because I got a Passion 12 Port Stroker Kit and I want to try the CPI inframes. And I also have a set of White Brothers 28mm Flat side Carbs for $200. Edited November 10, 2004 by Mod Banshee Quote

Just something to consider. 279111[/snapback] T-6 are not designed for a ported engine at all. They are only good for stock port design. If you are looking to make some more power why dont you put your money somewhere else because t-5's are good pipes. Maybe porting, increase compression, adv timming, v-force reeds, loose weight off bike and yourself, lighten flywheel..... Quote
