With time comes change...if I came across the right deal(like what you may be getting into), I'd probably do the same. But who knows...may not actually be able to give the banshee up after taking it from stock to where it is now. :shrugani:

Having both I can tell ya that the 450 is a great quad. For certain things I think I actually prefer it. On tight, steep, technical trails that I'm lucky to make it into 2nd gear the 450 is really nice. But getting out in the open it just doesn't give you the same ear to ear grin that the banshee delivers.

I agree with that.

My nephew was up at the shop last week, and we were bullshitting about everything. Then it turned to the subject of ATV's, and my banshee. The he sort of grins, looks at his shoes and said "You're probably going to laugh at me, but I'm thinking of getting an EX" lol....I told him "Naw I aint gonna laugh. They're great for trails. Check out the Yamaha-450 while your shopping around. Get used to riding it then when you want to shit your pants, I'll let you borrow my Banshee."

After seeing the 450 Ash was riding at Roostfest, I think I'd have one for the sand too.

I have both and I think the Banshee is a lot faster and more exciting in the sand when ported and stroked. I didn't have one YFZ 450 that I couldn't beat racing up thunder hill at sand mountain last weekend, although they did often get the jump on me off the line. The 450 has some pretty nice qualities and kick ass as well, jumping, wheelies ect. the 450 is better than the Banshee. But I would choose the Banshee in the end. I say get both or keep the Banshee.

thanks for the opinions, though I knew what you'd all say to begin with. Nonetheless, I'm having some second thoughts as I've had more time to think. There's nothing I don't like about my banshee, and I'm not sure that I really need the change. I may go ride it and see, then make my decision, but I dunno. I plan on hitting the XC series really hard next year and thought it might be a good move, but I like being one of only two banshees out there, and I feel I can hang with anyone there, hell, my bud is the other banshee and he's second or third in points.
