layshea Posted September 12, 2004 Report Posted September 12, 2004 My dad doesnt want me playing with the motor on my yfz450 so I think I might buy this to play with. What kind of work do you all think it would need? Top or Bottom? I most likely wont know until I get in there I guess, correct? Thank you. I hope I can join the banshee world. Quote

Cotton eyed Joe Posted September 12, 2004 Report Posted September 12, 2004 youve got a lot to learn my friend Personally I'd get the bike. For $600 who cares whats wrong with it. AND DO NOT OVER LOOK THIS NEXT PIECE OF ADVICE----------> Get a Clymers Manual and read it cover to cover before you crack a single nut or bolt loose on that bike. There is quite a bit there than can be trashed by digging around. Some things would cost more than $600 to fix. Also, invest in a quality set of tools (Metric of course) a good torque wrench, and the best piece of advice: Stick around BansheeHQ. Dont forget to use the Search function. Quote
2Smoker Posted September 12, 2004 Report Posted September 12, 2004 Stick to the 4-poke. Tell your dad to f*ck the hell off and put a cam mod in it, pipe it and jet it and you'll probably be happier without the headache of getting that banshee going. It looks like a good parts bike, but not something I'd dump money in. Quote
Capone Posted September 12, 2004 Report Posted September 12, 2004 Stick with your 450. But I'm looking for another shee, where's it located? I might hook you up with some money also. Quote
nickxc Posted September 12, 2004 Report Posted September 12, 2004 Stick with your 450. But I'm looking for another shee, where's it located? I might hook you up with some money also Its located right here on ebay. If it wasnt so far from NY Id pick it up for sure. Id love a project bike... banshee on ebay!!! Quote
layshea Posted September 13, 2004 Author Report Posted September 13, 2004 The price on ebay is going alot higher than what i thought it would too. Since Michigan is far drive from anywhere besides Indiana I figured there would not be very many potential buyers. Yea, that was pretty dumb of me about the battery. On my 450 i have took out the baffle in the muffler, removed the air lid, and got the jetting perfect. When i mentioned the idea of doing a cam mod he didnt like that. Quote
98bonerSTOCKshee Posted September 13, 2004 Report Posted September 13, 2004 There was a 'shee for like 900 bucks up at lil sahara labor day weekend. It need some cosmetics and the guy said a top end. It had pipes and aftermarket head on it and Lord knows what else. He was in the North campground.. And no I didnt get his number. Damn it! Quote
