lincster Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 I think jetting. What elevation and air filter system are you running? I mix 110 low lead with premium for my 20cc domes, bike runs great. I am also at 370 mains with Toomey needles at 4th clip position from the top. Toomey 2:1 air filter setup. Quote
nickxc Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 let us know how it comes out.. Im interested... Quote
banshdog Posted September 13, 2004 Author Report Posted September 13, 2004 Ran the 110 in it yesterday, same thing. Gonna get some bigger mains, up to 320's i guess. might not have a chance to test it out before I head to "Silverfest or Sandfest" whatever we are gonna call it. later. Quote
2Smoker Posted September 13, 2004 Report Posted September 13, 2004 You never said what your plugs looked like. I would go at least 20 more on the mains. You would be surprised how much fuel you can put into the shee before it starts to bog out WOT. I thought 260's were big, and I went from that to a 320 and I'm still a little lean and that was after a port job. Quote
pimpeinkc Posted September 13, 2004 Report Posted September 13, 2004 premium pump gas should be fine with those domes. the race fuel comes in when compression is such that it makes the motor run too hot. race fuel runs cooler. if it falling out at high revs, make sure you fuel and air supply are not cloggeed and also check and make sure one of your spark plug boots has not lost its connection. measure the resistance of them both and if they are the same you should be okay. you could also check your carb and reeds. if that don't do it, then you might need to check your jetting. but if this juat came out of no where then i don't see the jet being the problem. nickxc Posted September 14, 2004 Report Posted September 14, 2004 but if this juat came out of no where then i don't see the jet being the problem. I've been thinking about this too and if you didn't change anything and all of a sudden it started doing this then jetting might not be it. but if you where lein to begin with then the temp or elevation changed it could have caused it... for what jets cost I jet it up a couple sizes and try it. banshee_kid350 Posted September 14, 2004 Report Posted September 14, 2004 I installed a noss head with 19cc domes and a bunch of other goodies and when I took it out for the first time it ran good until top of 5th and 6th gear it wouldnt get up to where it use to, It would kinda miss so I took apart my carbs and found sand in them cleaned them out and it ran like a son of a bitch! banshdog Posted September 15, 2004 Author Report Posted September 15, 2004 Come to find out there is only 80 psi in the right cylinder and about 140 in the left. (explains all the pitting in the stock head when i removed it.) Jetting is lean too. Looks like I got some work to do. Silver Lake this weekend? probably not Quote

For a dune trip I've stayed up all night getting ready. All you need is money, tools and will. Quote

Silver Lake this weekend? probably not that sucks. all you can do now is tear it down and find out what happend. I'd say now would be a good time for a port job as well if you have the money. Quote
