I use the air-compressor trick too, I will never go back to glue, you have to have grips with the closed ends to work..I am running tags. The funny thing is when your trying to put them on by yourself and one grip goes flying off the bars and hits your buddy in the head :jesterlaugh:

go with the good old scott hurricanes. cant go wrong with them. all i do is put them on with compressed air and then safety wire them. never had a slip yet

You basically pop the blow nozzle on the AC hose and put it in the hole in the end of the grip (make sure its partially on the bar already). Blow air in and they slide right on because they expand.

I never did anything really, I got new bars and new grips, and when I put them on I wetted the handle bar end a very small amount with yes thats right spit, and then slid it on and it gets hard to put on and you just roll it on and mine are nice and toght. I never used solvents, I didnt think youre supposed to because it doesnt dry or something.
