  3. I only replaced the one piston because it only has maybe 3 or 4 trips on it when I burned a hole in one of them. I measured the weight with no rings just the bare piston.
  4. I have a queston about piston weights. I had to replace one piston. The new one is 10 grams heavier then the old one. They are both Wisco prolite. My original piston is perfect, didnt really want to have to replace it. Is 10 gram diff on the pistons something to worring about?
  5. I got my private in 94. I have 400+ hrs. I dont fly as much as I should, most of my time is in Bonanzas. I work as an A/P at a Beech repair station for 17 years, so any questions about a Bonanza or Baron I can answer.
  6. On the taper letter, is E richer then a C?
  7. I am at 165 mains, CCL needle middle clip and 42 pilot. Its not quite right but its getting closer, I am going to try a 40 pilot and thinner needle like a CCK or CCJ. I would not even try the stock needle CGL mine was so lean it would cut out at half throttle. I have 12 port stock stroke with 33 PWK.
  8. A guy at work put a TL1000 engine in a banshee with very little frame mods. This bike is insane, 130hp and 13,000 rpm. Anyone that goes to Glamis may have seen it, its all flat black and loud as heck.

  12. What color is the tranny oil? Might have a coolant leak. Or maybe the case half is leaking?

  14. Just passing on some info about Boss intakes. I just received one and when I checked the seal between the plates there was a 1/8" gap. Turns out its not an o-ring, just a single piece thats glued in the center with ultra black RTV. One of the o-rings thats on the pro design head will fit this if needed.
  15. I would say a little premix oil in the bottom of the case is normal. I have always seen this when I take my engines apart. This is why they smoke more when you first start them up?
  16. I have a buddy who stuffed a suzuki TL1000 V twin into a banshee, 130 hp stock. I here that its a rocket.
  17. I think a raptor with a pipe is much louder then a banshee with pipes.
  18. I broke both lower left leg bones right above ankle. Was racing up Olds hill at Glamis and foot came off foot peg and my foot got stuck in between chain and sprocket. Luckily it was only my shoe that was stuck in the chain, but it pulled my foot around the axle. It was nasty, six months in a cast. This was on my old ATC 250R. Always were a helmet AND boots.
  19. Grip glue never worked for me. I used some 3m glue 1300L, and the only way to get them off now is to cut them off.

  21. I have a tusk clutch. It works fine with 3 stock and 3 HD springs. There is one thing that I dont like, the clutch adjustment changes from cold to hot alot. I heard that tusk steels swell with heat? I have my engine apart now so I am looking into this, if I have to I will replace the clutch.
  22. I have my bottom end apart to have the crank welded and I found the gear on the clutch basket is a little loose. The manual says any movement is bad. The gear moves about 1/16 to 1/8. Also the clutch push rod is discolored on the end, looks like it got really hot.

  24. R/C cars and planes. I also fly real airplanes.
  25. Where do you get these inline coolers? The Pro design one look to small.
