I'm trying to install my new Toomey T5's and nothing at all will line up  . Did thet send pipes for another quad or what. The pipe bracket on the shee and the one on the pipe are about 3" off when completely seated into the motor. When trying to install springs, it's not going to happen, they just will not pull out for enough. Please tell me if anyone else had these problems or they sent the wrong set.

Thx

only other pipe toomey makes is for a blaster, so probably not the wrong pipes....the front pipe hangers do have to swing forward to bolt up, i think the stock mount is straight up and down. Call up toomey cand ask them, they have good costomer service from what ive heard

Trick is, TAKE the brackets off the frame, then put the pipes on, attach the springs then re-install the brakets. Make shure you rotate the bracket so it lones up with the hole on the pipe. Now put the bolts in and tighten them up. All of toomey's pipes are built from the same jig..so unless you got a bent frame or a cocked engine it should all fit. I have minor issues getting the r/h pipe in sometimes, but that's because my steering damper gets in the way.

you sure they are on the right side?? the srpings shouldnt be that hard to get on. try using some vice grips to pull on them. as for the upper mount, it will pivot, just loosen it up and then line up the bolt holes.

Agreed....

But if Toomey did f*ck up, I'm sure he will replace the pipes.

It sounds like you aren't using the bracket for the front pipe support. If you didn't use this the hanger alignment would be off about 3 inches or so. You should have a bracket that mounts to the frame, and then mounts to the pipe and it has about 3/8" of offset in it. Do you have the correct size of springs? If this kit is new from toomey, I wouild think they sent you the correct springs. I know I had some problems with aftermarket springs on getting the correct length.

With the left pipe seated all the way into the motor the bracket on the frame and the bracket on the left pipe are off about 3". I talked to James at Toomey and he stated that they should almost line up, but they will be alittle off but not much. He said that the Right pipe and the Left pipe is actually made by two different companys. He wants me to try the right side this afternoon to see if that side is off as well. He wants to eliminate factory defect and which side will determine which factory.

I jusy installed my T-5's a couple weeks ago. Just like the guys are telling you...put a little muscle on the springs(stock ones will work) I just used pliers, but vice grips and a little grunt will do it. Put a little hi temp grease(disc brake grease will work) on the o-rings located on the inside of the pipe, where it slides over the cylinder spud. Attach the springs, then loosely install the front STOCK mounting bracket off the old pipes...my didn't line up either, like the guys are saying, the bracket will be in a forward position, twist the pipe a little to tweak it into the best fitting position. then loosely attach stinger's and silencers(using supplied rear silencer hangers..I had to buy them seperately) When you have everything in position, start tightening down the front hangers. I had to play with the hanger/pipe position a little...holding the hanger while I got the bolt started(not forcing it though) It actually was really easy, just take your time. You'll love the new upgrade :D Oh yeah don't forget to reverse your radiator hose(Toomey has detailed instructions on their web site, if you don't already have them.)

i took off my t5s for a cleaning and i had my friend put them back on after i was done, well when i came over to him he had the pipe on all cock eyed just like u said about 3 inchs off well u just got to take off the pipe and twist it a little, then slide it back on install the springs then the bracket once u tighten the bracket it will align up.

I'm on hold right now w/Toomey. I emailed some pics to'em and they are going to take a look and give their opinion of whats going on. I will keep you posted and if needed post some pics later.
