brakes question

in the pic, theres the bolt with the thing around it, and then the brakes itself, should there be like a bushing type deal inbetween, becuase its loose and its driving me frigen nuts, clymers dont really have a good picture or explenation of it. and if there is one, anyone got one they wanna get rid of?

sweet thanks, i figured something went in there, my prob is i put in new pads, and its loose where the bolt is, so if im pushing it it'll grab, then let go, then grab and it causes a rattle thats annoying as hell! wanna sell me the rubber piece :)

You won't find those parts in a breakdown anywhere. Looks to me that your caliper is already rigged..that's the wrong hdwr installed in it. Should be a pin and a black rubber seal. The brake rides on those pins and they are very important for proper brake function. I think if you look up a 1986 honda 200x they have the brake break down..yes the honda shares the same rear caliper as the banshee. Might be mistaken on the year though.

I just rebuilt My rear Brakes Cuz Mine was missing that too. It is a rubber sleeve thats a bitch gettin back in. I still had mine, But u kinda just have to shove it in with a small flat head, I dont have a pic but I hope i gave a hand.CALL THE GUY AT THE END OF MY REPLY, HE SHOULD HAVE ONE FOR YOU FOR SURE, FORA REALLY GOOD PRICE.

They look like rubber sleves. there real thin. I beleve that you can buy them seperately. The guy at the local shop said they keep dirt out and dont really need them but they prevent wear.

According to Clymers, you CANNOT purchase these rubber boots. I tore one of mine, so I emailed a Nissan distributor. They said they do not support these single piston calipers. You have to buy them as a whole unit, except for the inner seals.

If you do know of a place to buy these rubber boots, please let everyone here know. It would help out a lot since mine is getting full of crap everytime I ride it on a surface other than tar.
