Hey everyone, looong time no see.... :)

Does anyone know how to use the search function properly? I have some time this weekend to go on my RZ Banshee a bit but it needs some tunning... So I was looking for some RZ posts, and I know at one time there were a lot of people putting RZ engines in their banshees and I want to know the jettings specs that everyone is running.

I've gotten the best results from searching from the main page and not within a category. I also ake sure that I search all forums and unless you know exactly when it was posted, set the date of search at the highest possible.

DEF!! Where the hell have you been?! Not sure I've seen anybody's RZ jetting, Minkia38 has one running, as does broke and rzcolobanshee (that I can think of offhand), you might PM them and/or see if they post here. I don't know where Meat's at on his but I don't think he has it together yet. I'm waiting on my RZ jugs to get back from Patriot now. Meat_Head is another Canadian, he's not running RZ cylinders but has Cheetah PV cylinders I think. Here's a couple links to RZ boards you might check out:

Heeeeeeeeey BEN. I decided to go back to school last January... So since then I barely have been out on the ATV. I'm home like 2 days a week and half the time I end up at the cottage so doesn't leave me much time for the ATV anymore. Got one more semester to go in the fall and I'm done with that crap.

Then hopefully it's back to buying tons of parts and modifying my Banshee more hehe. Could use a ton of work still. Oh well sooooon :)

I'm just trying to get the jetting right... I'm running a 15th front sprocket and the top end just seems flat. First few gears are dead strong but 5th and 6th just feel flat... But it looks to me like it's jetted right at 300 mains. I have banshee carbs hooked up to it.

Pro flow filter without the lid, paul turner high revs and a mild port/polish.

I dont know why the top end is so flat with a 15 it should be pulling it fine. I will shift 1, 2, 3, then 4th feels a little flatter then 5th than 6th just does not want to rev out. I am 180 pounds so I dont think it's a weight issue or nothing. It should do better than it is but for some reason i think my old banshee motor with SST's was stronger.

i run the same pipes, porting as you but i am using rg 250 flatslide 28mm carbs with a k&n filter with no air box lid,my mains are 310, pilots 30 clip 4th from the bottom i also run a 15 front sproket and a adjustable timing plate

the same thing happened to me in an xc event last year it started not to pull cleanly in 5th and 6th at about 2 hours in and all it was is a slightly clogged air filter i pulled off the air filter and finished the lap and pitted for a new filter problem solved as soon as i removed it

Are you running the RZ trans, or banshee? I know some have said that the RZ trans ratios don't work the best for a quad. I have the Banshee trans in mine, so that's just a guess.

Anyway, here are my mods for comparison;

The porting I guess could be described as a Pro MX port. Basically just porting meant for a broad powerband with an extra nod toward top end.

Rocket pipes

V-force Reeds

Billet intakes(really doesn't mean shit)

30mm Keihins

K&N Clamp ons

Right now at sea level and 80 degree days I am running a 180 in the Keihins and was running 350 mains with the stock carbs.

Pilot is still stock, I can't really figure it out so I don't mess with it. And I leaned the needle out on clip.

But I can tell you mine is an animal all the way to the top of 6th with a 15 tooth sprocket. I usually run a 16, but that's just because the motor has such a broad spread of power, that I can lug gears more and don't shift as often.

If you need anything explained in more detail, just ask.

Broke, wow 350's sounds really high. I had 330's in it and it was popping and gurgling like crazy when I tried to rev it out.

I also leaned out my needle by one notch, seemed to help it out in 3rd gear a lot. I thought maybe it wasnt good but seeing that you did it too makes me feel better about that adjustment. I noticed the clip that holds that bushing in place on the inside of the kickstart side cylinder was broken. The o-ring in there was completely flattened out and I could jiggle the valve around inside..... So I got a replacement o-ring it seems like it is running a touch better, maybe it's just my imagination though. But I noticed the o-ring on the other side is blown too so I will have to order another one. (guess I'll get new ones for all around while i'm at it)I am wondering if those o-rings being blown could cause enough of an exhaust leak to flatting out the engine out like that?

Today was about 20 degrees or so, and I was holding the ATV pinned in 6th it didnt feel like it wanted to rev out all the way. But when I killed the engine and checked out the plug it was totaly dry on one side and you could see metal. While on the other side had some carbon build up on it that looked like a brownish black colour. I'll try grab my camera and post a picture of it tomorrow. See what you guys think of the colouring.

Yeah, it is a big main. For some reason my bike just likes big main jets. I went Riding with Fixitrod and his ported stroker was running substantially smaller mains. I've never figured out why, but the RZ jugs like a large main and a smal pilot. With stock carbs I got the best throttle response from 20's.

Anyway, your plugs don't sound good. I would post some pics and let the gurus on here tell you what's up.

Those O-rings sound like they are messing something up. It's not the little orange ones, but the big black one that's messed up. right?

I just thought of something. Are you sure the powervalves are definately open? Can you phisically see them cycle? The O-ring thing just flickered a light bulb in my head.

Well i see the servo opening them, so I can only assume it is working right...

And yes it was the o-rings i replaced, not the orange things.
